Round-up: Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color Extensions (Fall 2016) Overview

Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip ColorBobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color ($35.00 for 0.12 oz.) is supposed to have one-stroke color coverage with a hydrating, smoothing formula, and “nourishing shine.” I was impressed with the formula as a whole, as the majority of the shades were very pigmented in one pass with a creamy consistency that glided on easily. There’s a richness to the texture that does feel more “luxe” in a way. The natural-to-luminous shine level gives lips a smoother, plumper look, while the formula itself is hydrating and many shades are longer wearing. I noticed that the lighter shades tended to perform more poorly relative to more light-medium to medium-dark-hued shades. There was a faint floral scent (that was a surprise, I wish they had gone the unscented!), but I didn’t have issues with taste and found it very subtle on.

The new shades are nice to see to the line, as it shows that the range has been successful enough to merit shade extensions!

Thank goodness these are permanent. Your Majesty is my go-to for a bold lip at work, and I have Bond and Uber Rose on my buy list at next sale/promo

Not to be too cynical or anything as I’m sure they are lovely and worth every penny and everything, but many of those colours seem very dupeable (with the exception of Bond) just by glancing at them. Feel free to tell me otherwise though!
Maybe I’ll try one and fall in love with them one day! Who knows!

I’m glad that the medium to dark hues performed well out of the bunch- there are several colors here that I like quite a bit, so I may have to revisit these. (Also, hooray for permanents!)

Yep! Even the lighter shades are better than the average lipstick in a similar color, but they’re not quite as good as the darker ones for sure.

Bond And Uber Rose sure are nice. They all are, but for me, those are sort of unusual. The plummy lipsticks I have are darker, I think.

I’m pretty sure I said it before, but Bond is amazing — I can’t stop looking at it. The more I look at Uber-Rose, the more I fall for it, but it wouldn’t see as much use if I actually got it. I don’t think of buying makeup in terms of season, but if I were to allow myself one iconically-Autumn lipstick, it would be Bond (and then I’d wear it in the Spring). ๐Ÿ™‚
