Round-up: Becca Beach Tint Shimmer Cheek Souffles Thoughts & Comparisons
Becca Beach Tint Shimmer Cheek Souffles
Interestingly enough, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes instantly came to mind when first seeing Becca’s blush in the pots, as they both have that marbleized effect, and now, the way I feel about these is also reminiscent of the Hourglass blushes: they’re all more similar than not, and generally, they run quite warm-toned. Guava/Moonstone is a lighter, more golden (compared to coppery) version of Fig/Opal, while Lychee/Opal is the most reflective/frosted and is a warmer version of both Raspberry/Opal and Watermelon/Moonstone. The last two are very similar to each other with Raspberry/Opal being a tiny bit cooler-toned and a smidgen darker. Papaya/Topaz is unlike the other five, as it is much, much deeper and darker in color. Of the six shades, Papaya/Topaz, Raspberry/Opal, and Watermelon/Moonstone are the most easily used as an illuminating blush, while the other three shades are much softer and lighter on the skin, so they’ll be blushes on fairer skin tones but may only illuminate on deeper complexions. I wish there was a better variety of depth and undertone showcased in the range so it would be a more versatile selection of shades.
- COOLEST-TONED: Raspberry/Opal
- LIGHTEST to DARKEST: Guava/Moonstone, Fig/Opal, Lychee/Opal, Raspberry/Opal, Watermelon/Moonstone, Papaya/Topaz
- LEAST LIKE THE OTHERS: Papaya/Topaz
- PERSONAL FAVORITE: Watermelon/Moonstone

Aaaah, they are all so pretty.
They are!
Lovely, but lately your swatches are VERY washed out. I don’t know if its the lighting or what. This is not what they look like at all. In real life they look less washed out. They look more accurate on the swatches on YouTube. Not sure why your swatches are so washed out lately.
This is what they looked on me – I check swatches in multiple lighting situations as I am editing 🙂
Wow… All together, the difficulty to distinguish differences is heightened. You look beautiful and glowing, and each does have a slight discernible finished look on you, uniquely, but I’m kind of shocked that this is all so similar that, unless we’re the person with it, I personally find it hard to see 6 dynamic colors to choose from! What was your favorite from the bunch on yourself, Christine? Any final words of color shift to differentiate the more similarly appearing ones? Thanks! 🙂 😀
My personal favorite was Watermelon/Moonstone (listed in this post under “personal favorite”!) 🙂
Haha! I’m delayed! 😀 I saw this prior to the Watermelon review! It’s my favorite, as well. 😀
What did you use to put these on? Love the idea of these for summer!
Hi Amanda,
I used MAC’s 159!
These are beautiful! Wish there were some options for those of us that are cool-toned..
I’m with you, Lindsay! I also like cooler shades on my skin tone at times, so I would have loved to have seen a better mix of options!
Once again, your round-up post is incredibly helpful. I agree with Lotus, these look incredibly similar in full face shot and it makes it difficult to differentiate the underlying ‘blush’ colours.. which is sad in a way and entirely consistent with the hourglass blush review. Good news: you’re saving me money! I’m thinking my 2 choices are perfect and I do not need to explore this product beyond.
It’s funny how similar the overall picture is between these and Hourglass’ blushes – both are very nice products but redundant.
I agree about your favorite, definitely the most special and unique of the bunch!
Glad you liked that one, too 🙂
I think I’ve decided on Lychee/Opal, but I’m still going to wait to swatch them in person. You look so gorgeous in all of these Christine! 🙂
Thanks a lot! Look forward to hearing what you think of the formula.
Great recap, these all look wonderful! Love the comparison!
Thanks, Daisy!
pardon if this was covered, the texture looks a bit like a more firmer version of MAC’s Big Bounce eyshadows which dried up quickly, do you think these will dry up fairly fast?
My Big Bounce Eyeshadows haven’t dried up, so I really couldn’t say!
I think I need Fig/Opal. It’s so pretty and natural.
It is nice if you want more of a sheen!
I ended up ordering guava (as guava and watermelon were the only was left in stock to order). I do want lychee too though! As always, thank u for the roundup, it helps a lot!
My pleasure, Dani! xo
Did i miss the price and where you can buy them? Sometime i get too excited and overlook these things. I loved the watermelon/moondust shade
They’re Sephora exclusives and are $27!
I definitely think I need Lychee/Opal, Raspberry/Opal, and Watermelon/Moonstone! I can’t seem to stay away from things that look pinkish-reddish. Although all of my favorites seem to look too similar, haha! Does the Lychee/Opal one smell like actual lychees? If so I may stay away from that one because I’m not too keen on that smell.
It smells like sweet fruit, but I don’t get 100% lychee – my nose isn’t very good though.
Thanks! I’ll see how I feel about them in person, I just hope I won’t end up wanting them all haha.
I just kind of want these for how they look in the packaging, LOL! I’m not surprised that Watermelon/Moonstone is your favourite – you look so fresh and pretty in it! (Mind you, not like you don’t look great in the others, damn you) :-D.
I think my favourites are probably Watermelon/Moonstone and Raspberry/Opal…which is probably not a shock, as they’re so similar 😛
If Raspberry/Opal was just slightly cooler… sigh!
Yesssss I have Watermelon/Moonstone on my way to me right now. Should be here tomorrow… I only allowed myself to buy one, and I definitely made the right choice after seeing these pics! Thank you for the review!
Enjoy, Sophie! Hope you love it!
This round-up is amazing! Love the individual snapshots! 🙂
Thanks, Abigail!
christine, what did you use on your lips? I need it now 😀
THE MAKEUP LOOK
On face: Guerlain Parure de Lumiere Foundation, Guerlain Les Voilettes Loose Powder. On lips: Hourglass Ballet Extreme Sheen Lipgloss.
Guava/Opal is probably my favorite, but it’s so hard to choose! I am bookmarking this page for reference haha.
Yay! 😀
Raspberry and Watermelon might work for me but I think with a light hand I might be able to make all of them work save Papaya! I’d be worried it might emphasize pores though.
I’d go with the ones that aren’t quite as OTT shimmery!
Watermelon, opal and raspberryy looks absolutely flattering on u.. thanks for the side by side comparison.. it really helps to distinguish between all of them! 🙂
Thanks a lot, Poo!
Do you think these would could sort of replace a highlighter? They look sooo purty & glowy. I’ve been trying to track down the Becca pressed highlighter in Opal but it’s sold out everywhere and I’m really not good at being patient 🙁
Yes, I think so! 🙂
PLEASE, if you ever read this question and are willing to answer it! FIRST, thanks for the super-thorough info on the Becca beach tint blushes. SECOND, I am DYING to know what lipstick(s) you are wearing in these photos. Looks like at least three different colors of hot pink, with varying undertones of coral (not sure whether this is genuinely true or whether photos were taken in slightly different light conditions). In any case, ALL of the lipstick looks are STUNNING — vibrant “statement” lip colors are my favorites so if you’re willing, I would LOVE TO KNOW the colors that you used! P.S. I am SUCH a major fan of Temptalia. You rock!
Hi Frannie!
It’s Hourglass Ballet Extreme Sheen Lipgloss in all the photos! 🙂
Thank you!
ooh, I may want to try this because I use a whipped/mousse sort of foundation (Boots no 7 matte mousse) and this sounds like a similar texture so I think it might work better than powder foundations for me 😀 Your pictures wearing the product always helps me pick… I chose Radiant Magenta from Hourglass based on your swatches. I’m so surprised that has become my go-to everyday blush! I guess I thought it would be more shimmery or somehow not an everyday wearable color but it totally is!
YAY! I’m so glad Radiant Magenta worked so well for you, Annie 😀
Thank you!
