Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches (Berry Couture, Fuchsia Shock, Lover's Coral)
Revlon Berry Couture Super Lustrous Lipstick
Revlon Berry Couture Super Lustrous Lipstick ($7.99 for 0.13 oz.) is a cool-toned, fuchsia-berry with a soft shine. The color was buildable from sheer to semi-opaque–it looked a bit like a lip stain, because of how thin the formula is, as it looks a lot like my natural lip; not heavy-looking at all. This particular shade wore for three and a half hours on me, which is shy of average, but for something with as much slip as this does going on, it was good wear. Revlon Sorbet is warmer. MAC Lickable is slightly brighter. Dior Lucky is warmer. See comparison swatches.
Fuchsia Shock Super Lustrous Lipstick ($7.99 for 0.13 oz.) is a cool-toned fuchsia pink with iridescent fuchsia shimmer. It had sheer to semi-opaque color that was buildable and never felt heavy or thick on the lips. It lasted two and a half hours on me. MAC Midnight Mambo is brighter, cooler-toned. Revlon Lollipop is darker. Chanel Extatique is lighter. See comparison swatches.
Lover’s Coral Super Lustrous Lipstick ($7.99 for 0.13 oz.) is a softened, coral-red with warm undertones and a soft shine. This shade didn’t apply as evenly as the other two, but it had the same thin, your-lips-but-better finish that had a light sheen and sat well on the lips. It wore for two hours. NYX Haute Melon is more muted. Guerlain Nahema is more pigmented, shimmery. Chanel Coquette is lighter, more shimmery. Make Up For Ever Folk is similar. See comparison swatches.
It has a “Shine” finish, which delivers “lightweight color and moisturizing shine” with “buildable color payoff.” The formula is supposed to be moisturizing with a shiny finish. I didn’t detect any scent in any of the ones I bought at all, though I certainly stuck my nose close enough to get pink on the tip of it! Â These three all felt moderately hydrating on me, but the hydration only lasts as long as they do, so it’s not as hydrating as a separate lip balm.

It looks like you might have had some images shuffled around before you posted this, Christine – Fuschia Shock is showing up as a lipgloss.
These are very lovely on you! I think I prefer my lip shades a little more opaque, but these are quite nice. Lover’s Coral in particular makes you glow. 🙂
Hey Veronica!
It should be fixed now! Sorry about that!
I like the coral one. It would be amazing if you did a whole bunch of Revlon lipsticks. I love Revlon super lustrous lipstick.
Hello!
The middle swatches show the fuchsia lip gloss you reviewed a few days ago, not the lipstick. How would you compare this formula to the lip butters?
Happy 4th!
Julie
Lip Butters are thicker and have a lot more slip – Lip Butters feel glossy and look glossy, and these are thinner and look shiny but not glossy.
I think you’ve got an uncharacteristic error in the photos, Christine. Instead of Fuchsia Shock lipstick, you’ve got images for Fuchsia Finery gloss. I’m eager to see how the lipstick looks on you; I think it will fall into my “too bright for comfort and already covered with Impassioned and Champs Elysees” category but I’d still love to see it on you. I’m going to pick up Berry Couture as soon as I get a chance.
It should be fixed now, Mariella!
Yup, all fixed. I looked at Berry Couture at the drugstore beside my gym today after my workout. There wasn’t a tester but the colour looked lovely. Good thing I didn’t have my wallet or I might have dropped a bit on a few of these (of course, in Canada, they’re over $10 each so I’ll wait for a sale or some sort of special offer).
YAY Revlon lipsticks! 🙂
I like Revlon, but really, they’re not my colors. I love purple, but these look pinker on your warm skin, so they would likely look pink on me.
Thanks for posting!
I like Lover’s Coral, might get that one. Revlon Super Lustrous is one of my favourite formulas of all time: I have Black Cherry, Revlon Red, Fire and Ice. I wish more shades suited me.
Nice! I haven’t tried much (I can’t remember anything I’ve tried, so it’s entirely possible it’s nothing or else awhile ago, lol!) from the Super Lustrous range.
Ooh, these new Super Lustrous offerings look nice! I have my eye on Plum Velour for fall…
Berry Couture is so pretty!
I like Berry Couture but I’m afraid it might be overwhelming right now. Maybe it’ll be a fall color for me.l like Lover’s Coral too; pretty color, might be a little extreme on my cool, pale skin even with my confidence 😛
Berry Couture has my name written on it!
I have Lover’s Coral and it’s my current fave lippie!!!
The coral color is a perfect shade. Not too pink or orange. Just right. 😉
It’s lightweight, but buildable. It shows up more coral on me.
Since it has the shine finish, it’s not long-wearing. But I tend to reapply a lot anyway.
Berry Couture and Fuchsia Shock look lovely too, but I have Revlon’s Sorbet and Lollipop so I might just take a pass on these lightweight versions.
Fuchsia Shock is a wonderful example of a pink that looks lovely on ALL skin tones.
