Revlon Demure, Flirtatious, & Ingenue Colorburst Lacquer Balms Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Revlon Demure (105) Colorburst Lacquer Balm
I have three more shades of Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm ($8.99 for 0.095 oz.) to share with you! (Then I’m all out, but I’m hoping to pick up the remaining shades when there’s a good sale!) You can see other shades I’ve reviewed here. To recap, the formula has a balm-like consistency–lightweight, slightly slick–and usually applies fairly easily. The color payoff varies from semi-sheer to mostly opaque, and it seems like lighter shades are sheerer, whereas the darker shades (reds, fuchsias, etc.) are more opaque. Oddly enough, the deeper shades also seem to be more hydrating (and unsurprisingly, longer-wearing). These have a mint-scent and slight mint flavor.
Demure (105) Colorburst Lacquer Balm ($8.99 for 0.095 oz.) is a soft, warm-toned peach with hints of pink and subtle white sparkle. It had semi-sheer color coverage; what it did was make my lips look more even, pinker, and lighter. I think this is a shade that can look very different from person to person as the natural lip color drastically alters the way it looks. I found this one a little drying, actually, and it only lasted for two and a half hours–so it’s my least favorite from the shades I’ve tried. Tom Ford Beauty Summer Fling (04) (LE, $49.00) is darker, warmer. Tarte Pink Peony (P, $16.00) is darker, pinker. Marc Jacobs Beauty Have We Met? (108) (P, $30.00) is darker, pinker. Revlon Pink Lemonade (P, $7.49) is lighter. MAC Flamingo (LE, $16.00) is darker. Guerlain Beatrix (LE, $48.00) is glossier. Chanel Jersey Rose (P, $34.00) is slightly warmer. See comparison swatches.
Flirtatious (125) Colorburst Lacquer Balm ($8.99 for 0.095 oz.) is a cool-toned, pinky-red with subtle ruby red shimmer. Applied, it’s a luscious, deeper pinky-red with a glossy, luminous shine. It had semi-opaque color coverage where the natural lip color peeked through only slightly. The color wore well for four and a half hours, and it did leave a slight stain as it wore away, and it was moderately hydrating. Too Faced Jelly Bean (P, $21.00) is pinker. Dior Minuit (LE, $36.00) is less glossy. MAC Prepare for Pleasure (LE, $16.00) is redder. MAC Love Goddess (LE, $16.00) is a bit brighter/pinker. See comparison swatches.
Ingenue (145) Colorburst Lacquer Balm ($8.99 for 0.095 oz.) is a peachy-brown with warm undertones and a soft, frosted sheen. It had semi-sheer to semi-opaque pigmentation when applied to lips. It was a smidgen hydrating, and it lasted for two and a half hours on me. MAC Fresh and Frisky (LE, $20.00) is warmer, lighter. Too Faced Sweet Maple (P, $21.00) is darker, more pigmented. MAC Glamour Era (P, $22.00) is more pigmented. Guerlain Gracieuse (P, $49.50) is brighter, more pigmented, warmer. See comparison swatches.

Flirtatious is pretty!
It is!
I really like Flirtatious and Ingenue. I love these, they make my lips feel amazing but I always love being able to see swatches before I purchase them. There are SO many colors so, it makes it hard to decide, especially without the swatches!
What are your favorites, Amber?
Is Ingenue similar to Tzigane by NARS?
Tzigane seems to have a little more rosiness in it, but they are similar!
Flirtatious is quite cute isn’t it? 🙂 I have a few of these but not that one. I’m always too nervous to wear such a bright pink. Maybe if I start off inside my house only? Haha.
Yessss! Start in the house, work your way up 🙂 DO IT! You won’t regret it!
Flirtatious is pretty! But I dont need anymore of similar shades! Sheer ones usually dot work well for me but I really like demure as a shade!
At least it’s not too expensive, so you could try it without the guilt!
Shame about Ingenue not being great, I don’t see that colour a lot in drugstore brands. Flirtatious looks nice though. I’ve noticed (I think) you tend to give A’s more readily to reds – do you think they’re easier to make or something? Most of the reds seem to be nicely pigmented, even when the other colours are lacking.
Reds are pretty easy, because it’s rare that they don’t wear at least four hours – if not five, six, seven, etc. Most reds are also very pigmented.
I like all of these!
Yay!!
I bought some of these, they are so sheer I regret getting them.
Which shades did you get, Natalie? Some of them are sheerer, some are really pigmented!
Cute earrings, Christine! It’s like your Temptalia flower!
Thank you, Christina! 🙂
Flirtatious is so pretty. I’m definitely picking up one of those instead of another Clinique Chubby Stick (I like the Chubby Sticks but these from Revlon are much less expensive and see just as good).
I think they’re very on par with them!
Demure and Flirtatious are super cool and I might pick up both. I especially like Demure, I think it might be good to tone down my lip color without being too cool or too warm!
That could definitely work to tone it down!
I love demure here, and i LOVE your earrings! I’m assuming they’re from etsy?:)
Yup! Etsy! 🙂
Oh, Demure, you will also be mine!
Woohoo!!
I love the way Demure looks on you! I didn’t really lay attention to the lacquer ones but I think I’ll try them now. They seem pretty good!
Thanks, Fancie! They’re worth a try 🙂
i wish these were more like the originals, that they were a sort of stain as well as glossy color. These wear off and are just . … gone.
They still have the stains, don’t they?
Almost…here…in…Middle…Earth… 😀
Sometimes I want to hijack a giant magical eagle, fly over to the States, and just go nuts on beauty products. Somehow I’m guessing they frown on hijacking giant magical eagles, though…
Love how all three of these look on you, Christine!
I am looking forward to when you finally get them! 🙂
I love the first 2! And I love your earrings!
Thanks a lot, Jeannie!
LOVE LOVE LOVE Flirtacious! I wore it on Valentine’s Day with the Revlon gloss in Adorned on top — gorgeous!
What a kapow! lip you wore, Kathryn 😀
balm stain sticks are my favorite, i already have many of the original revlon ones, i can’t wait to try these as well.
Nice! What are your top three favorites from the original range?
It’s good you asked for my 3 favs, because I have exactly 3 favs;
Rendevous, honey, and darling. Purples and oranges are my favorites for lip colors.
There’s clearly some glittery bits in it but it doesn’t seem to transfer onto your lips. I’ve been avoiding these because of the glitter! Would you say it’s more noticeable in person or are some not shimmery at all?
They’re subtle on the lips, but with the lighter shades, you can see them for sure.
I found that Demure was a REALLY close dupe to Mac Hue. What do you think?
Hue is pinker and lighter on me from what I remember!
OT: Would you consider reviewing the Hard Candy line that they brought back exclusively to Walmart? I used Hard Candy in the 90s and was wondering your thoughts on it!
Thanks for the suggestion!
Love the star earrings! Flirtatious is pretty might pick that one up. I own a couple of these balms and really like them especially during a BOGO 1/2 sale.
Thanks, Denise! 🙂
I like Demure & Ingenue. Flirtatious is really pretty, but if I go for a bold lip, I prefer fully opaque. With the lighter shades, I’m fine with sheer.
Demure is nice, really subtle as well. Revlon seems to be bringing out some nice lip shades this season.
Flirtatious is pretty, but the matte balms really appeal to me more.
Christine starting this sunday Rite Aid has 40%off on Revlon 🙂
I have Demure & love it. It’s great for minimal makeup days. My lips are more pigmented than yours, so it looks different on me. It’s a great product for a nude lip. These remind me a lot of Tarte’s lip products in the same packaging, but Tarte’s are more gritty feeling. Not a fan of those, at all.
These remind me of drugstore dupes for the tarte ones and that makes me mega happy! Ill have to get some the next time im near an ulta and they have a BOGO 50% sale!
Good idea 😀
What is your favorite shade? I wanna purchase but I don’t know which to get. They’re pretty!
Flirtatious is fun!
