Revlon Cupcake Colorburst Lip Butter

Revlon Cupcake ColorBurst Lip Butter ($7.49 for 0.09 oz.) is a pale, yet brightened, lilac pink with cool, blue undertones and a naturally glossy sheen. MAC Snob is a bit paler, not as vibrant, and more opaque. MAC Saint Germain is paler, more opaque. MAC Pink Nouveau is more vibrant, opaque, and pinker. Revlon Strawberry Shortcake is less lilac, almost gray-ish (in comparison), and more opaque. MAC Pink Popcorn is darker, pinker. MAC Naughty Saute is more opaque and slightly pinker. MAC Dress It Up is less lilac, more opaque. MAC All Styled Up is a little lighter and more opaque. MAC Viva Glam Gaga is pinker, lighter.

The sheerness of the formula (and this range is supposed to be sheer to medium in coverage) actually makes this type of color infinitely more wearable than its opaque counterparts! It has a thin, slick consistency that glides easily onto lips, but it does wear away quickly–Cupcake only managed to stay on my lips for an hour and a half (as opposed to the average lipstick lasting four hours on me). It contains a little less product than the average lipstick (typically 0.10 to 0.12 oz.) and requires frequent reapplication, but it is a more moisturizing formula.

Oh no!  Another lip butter I need.  I thought I had all of them by now.  I really hope they start releasing seasonal shades of the lip butters.

I have 10 of the lip butters out of 20 and I love them ALL. For me I love the feel of them, no bad smell or taste and no matter what anyone says all lipsticks on me rub off after an hour (yes, even lip tars) so these are nice to reapply and feel good. Cupcake is a fav too.

I think it doesn’t suit people with yellow undertone somehow. It looks hideous on me lol but the pigment and texture are reallly nice.

I have so many of these lip butters! I bought Cupcake but the color just did not work. My lips are quite pigmented so it ended up making my lips look “ashy” LOL. BTW, love the new site layout. Thanks for all that you do!

I haven’t tried this shade, but I have seven others, and it seems to me the ones with bluish undertones need to be reapplied a lot more than the warmer shades. Not sure that’s true beyond the 7 I have, but it was an interesting pattern to note.

And WOW, love the new layout! It loads so much faster, which is super-awesome!

I have a few of these but Cupcake is way too light for me (and I’m about as pale as you can get). I like them for a quick “I need something on my lips” moment, but I wouldn’t wear them for a party or formal vvent.

Been wearing this shade all week, but I find that is looks muuuch better paired with their Lilac Pastelle gloss on top. These two shades were meant for each other! Perfect lilac shade.

Gaaahhhh you’re so lucky having such light toned lips. You can wear nearly any shade. Colors like this look ludicrous on me, unfortunately 🙁 Dammit…..I guess I could tone down my natural lip color with concealer, but that means I’d have to carry both products with me. It would also alter the lip butter shade…..
