Rant & Rave: Blush and Cheek Stains
Share: Tell us what you love and hate about blush/cheek stains!
my answer: I feel like they so rarely look good paired with foundation, so you really have to have good skin naturally wear them and enjoy them!

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! I Feel exactly the same, I tend to wear them under foundation and before primer (just on bare skin) and apply quite a bit making my redness worse but then I pop foundation over the top and it’s all evened out and I have a nice under glow 🙂
They seldom apply evenly and if you apply directly to your cheeks and are not superfast in blending then you end up with stripes which can be seen even after you top it up with blush. So uncool!
I love Benefit’s Chacha tint! I actually use it on my lips the most. Do you know of a lipstick and lipgloss dupe of chacha? I would love to have a lipstick and gloss in the same color.
It works reasonably well as a blush– but it can be a little fussy. I prefer to use a powder blush. Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes are my favorite!
i love how easy they are to apply in any setting- my powder blush often wears off very easily so i love being able to whip out a tin of cheek stain and fix my makeup in a public bathroom, in my car, w/e. but there’s a fine line b/t blotchy, just applied mess of blush and blended out to complete sheerness it seems…
I like cream blushes and cheek stains much more than powder ones. I think that they look more natural and better mimick a natural blush, while giving the skin a bit of a glow at the same time. On the other hand, I find that powders often look like they sit on the skin. Powders can give a more definite, precise look, but can also make the skin look dry and cake-y. My favorite ones are Vapour Beauty in the shades Enchant and Spark.
I find stains difficult to blend sometimes. Powder blush is my favorite but I have a few cream blushes I’ll wear occasionally.
YSL Cream Blushes they have a lovely texture and are so very easy to blend
