Puur Lemonade Lip Scrub & Pumpkin Spice Body Butter Reviews & Photos
Puur Lemonade Lip Scrub
Purr Lemonade Lip Scrub ($5.00) tastes like sweet lemonade as the sugar granules gently exfoliate away any dead skin from the lips. It works, and it smells and tastes delicious, but the consistency is on the looser side, so I find that is very, very easily spreads so that it doesn’t seem as effective exfoliating as thicker lip scrubs. The sugars just disperse and run a bit across the mouth and just outside of it. To that end, it is gentler as there are less sugar granules in motion at once.
As a quick note, I’m not entirely sure how much product my jar contains, as it doesn’t say on my jar. The listing I purchased it from said it was 1 oz., but it was also supposed to be contained in a glass jar. As far as I can tell, my jar is plastic and a white plastic cap (not a brassy metal one), and the labeling is on the top of the lid (not around the jar). The ingredients listed on my label are as follows: “sugar, hemp butter, sunflower oil, essential oil.” The listing also included olive oil, avocado oil, and beeswax, none of which are listed on my label, under materials.
Puur Pumpkin Spice Body Butter ($7.00 for 4 oz.) is an extremely thick, not-quite-solid body butter used to provide intense hydration to the skin. It’s supposed to smell like a “maple bar and brown sugar, with hints of pumpkin spice.” In the jar, there are bits of pumpkin spice and brown sugar, but there’s a very noticeable waxy/plastic-y note in it, and on, it smells like an old lipstick–I don’t get any of the sweetness or pumpkin spice after a half hour. Â The consistency is just very lightly whipped but more solid (more like butter!). Â It was also a little stringy (maybe
This also took forever to absorb! I would take a shower, apply this, and sit in shorts–two to three hours later, it would still feel oily and have a faint sheen. I tried using less and less as I continued to test it, and using as little as possible, it seemed to mostly absorb after an hour. Â Ultimately, though it certain seems like it should be hydrating, I felt like a lot of the product was never absorbed and ended up on my bedding or clothing, so I did not feel like my skin looked or felt moisturized after using this.
Again, there was a packaging discrepancy, as it was pictured and described as being in an amber glass jar, and mine is just a glass jar. I really don’t have an issue with how either product arrived to me, but I don’t like that they aren’t as pictured. There were no ingredients listed on my jar, but the listing has these under materials: “raw ivory shea butter, olive oil, soy wax, arrowroot powder, fragrance.”
I might be the odd one out, as this is an Etsy shop with over 4,000 reviews.  If you’ve tried Puur, I’d love to hear your thoughts! 🙂

I’ve only tried the Lush lip scrubs (and I love them!) but this one sounds quite nice too. It might not be super exfoliating, but the scent and the taste must be delicious! 🙂
I’m guessing you can add more sugar to thicken up the lip scrub, if you didn’t like the consistency. If the smell is amazing, I would probably want to dip apple slices in it! 😉
That body butter sounds amazing! I love whipped body butters over a more solid one.
Both of those products look lovely… especially that body butter, which sounds good enough to eat! Thanks for your review! I’m definitely going to check out Purr.
How unfortunate with the packaging! I also dislike when the items receive don’t match the description; especially with online shopping.
I just took a look at the Puur etsy shop (some of the fragrances sound really unique!) and noticed this under shop policies:
“I’m in the process of making an exciting update to my branding and packaging. I’ll be gradually moving over to clear glass instead of amber for some items and it will take me a while to update all my pictures. You may be receiving a mix of my updated and current packaging, but don’t worry, it will still be the same awesome Puur products!”
Hopefully that clears up the confusion over the packaging!
Thank you, Amy! 🙂 I wonder why the lip scrub is now in plastic vs. glass!
The discrepancies would bother me, even if I loved the product – I don’t mind if a description notes that what will arrive is different from the picture, but just sending something different doesn’t feel very professional to me.
Have you tried Haus of Gloi products? The pumpkin (body) butter is AMAZING. I think I like the unscented (aether) best, but some of the scents are nice too. I’ve tried other products too which are nice, but the pumpkin butter is most definitely the stand out product.
I have tried many, unfortunately a lot of their scents turn plastic-y/play-doh on me, and some of the ones that don’t, I just don’t like (preference). I’ve tried 20-30 scents from them! I used to buy every launch, but I stopped after I realized I would never wear anything more than once. I do like their bubbling scrubs (Lavender).
Ordered a few pumpkin creams off etsy at the beginning of last month- this was my fave by far. You are right in the jar, but I don’t care. I love the scent of the cream and the thickness, I think maybe you are using too much. A little goes a LONG way. I love it and definitely will order it again.
Happy to hear you like yours, Liz! I use very, very little – I’ve been decreasing usage every time I used it, but it still took forever to absorb! Just didn’t seem to work for my skin, but with skin care, your mileage will vary!
