Editor's Review

The formula is supposed to be "blendable" and "pigmented" with "a bit of kick up" when used due to being "pressed by hand." Some shades come with "additional information" such as being sheerer on the brand's website (for that particular shade) or to use a "glitter primer" due to the finish.

I found that some matte shades were more noticeably powdery than others, but whether there was just a little bit of powderiness or more noticeable powderiness really depended on a shade. The neon shades were the most powdery and hardest to work with on their own; some had more specific tips/guidance on how to work with them, which I felt was great for disclosure, but it could get hard to remember what shade needs to be applied in such and such fashion since it really did vary a lot shade by shade. The darker and less neon matte shades tended to perform the best for me--more pigmentation, better blendability, and were easier to work with and were more consistent.

Most shades--matte and more shimmery--were pigmented, easy to blend, and applied well to bare skin. They lasted between seven and eight hours with most closer to eight hours before fading (more of the mattes) or creasing (some of the more intense metallics).

Claims / Ingredients

All of our matte shadows and pressed pigments are blended and pressed by hand which means a bit of kick up is expected. Our matte shadows and pressed pigments are blendable, pigmented and made with love.

Wow, this is a beautiful soft coral pink! It was metallic on my lids with an inner brightness to it. Definitely buildable, but tough to get it up to full opacity, hence the 4-stars.

I assumed Stormy would be so pretty based on Christine's swatch, but I was disappointed to find it was anything but. First, let me say I always use glitter primer with shimmery shades. Even with that, Stormy was hard to blend, powdery, and--most devastatingly--NOT shimmery! Ugh, it was like rubbing coal dust on my lids. Rather than a shimmering teal sparkle, my eye look was straight from the 90s grungy heroin chic era. Not cute, not welcome! It also creased like crazy, emphasizing lines around my eyes in a couple hours. I looked... as if life had defeated me. I guess I'm giving Stormy 2/5 stars because at least it did have some pigment and a little glitter. But warning to anyone entranced by Christine's preliminary swatch: this color is MUCH darker and duller on the eyes than it appears here. This is certainly a purchase I regret.
