Swamp Queen

Tarte Swamp Queen Eye & Cheek Palette ($45.00 for 0.64 oz.) contains three cheek colors and nine eyeshadows. The formula on some of the more matte shades was very, very silky and soft, but they kicked up a lot of excess powder in the pan and often sheered out when blended--more so than some of Tarte's past palettes. I noticed that some of the darker shades seemed to become more muted just a few minutes after applying, so it felt like I had to really pat and pack on some shades to get definition and depth out of them. I think the colors complement each other well, and I liked that there were some plummy hues thrown in with warmer, more orange-toned shades. I also felt like the cheek colors actually worked with the palette and its different color combinations, so the scheme is very cohesive. The palette is slated to be fully released on June 6th!
