Darkhorse is a deep brown with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had fantastic color payoff that covered the skin with opaque, even color. It had a soft, smooth consistency that wasn't too firm or too soft in the pan, so I didn't have any issues with fallout or the color losing its intensity when applied to the lid. It lasted just over eight hours on me.
