S228 Petrol Blue is a subdued, medium-dark bluish-teal with a semi-matte finish. It had fairly good color payoff, but it was weaker than the permanent version I have, though I found it to be buildable in two to three layers. The texture is smooth but thinner than a shade like D830 Black Rose. This one stains slightly without a good base underneath. The color wore well for eight and a half hours.
