Lancome Crystallized Cobalt (10) Le Metallique Metallic Lip Lacquer ($22.00 for 0.10 fl. oz.) is a bright, medium blue with lighter blue and silver pearl. It appeared brighter swatched than on the lips, as it ended up being semi-sheer and sort of turned my lips into a "I've been eating a blue popsicle" kind of color. While the gloss had greater density and was thicker, it managed to find its way into every lip line on my lips. On top of that, the color did not apply evenly and looked horrendous. The color lasted for five hours and was hydrating, so I guess all wasn't lost. I give credit to Lancome for doing a blue gloss in the first place, and it was translucent, but if it's going to look this terrible, I'm not sure you're really doing your brand any favors.
The Le Metallique formula is supposed to have "full-coverage" with a "rich, creamy texture" that is hydrating and long-wearing. First and foremost, if you do not like tacky gloss, you'll want to stay far away from these; the formula is very tacky and is a thicker, denser formula. They are longer wearing as a result, though, and most shades fell within four to six hours of wear for me and retain a really high-shine, high-gloss finish that almost looks wet and lasts throughout the wear time. Most shades were semi-opaque to opaque, but as the formula was thicker, I would hesitate to add more product to get more coverage. They seemed to have no discernible scent or taste to me.
