Kat Von D Saint + Sinner Holiday 2017 Eyeshadow Palette ($62.00 for 0.96 oz.) is a new, limited edition palette for the holidays. It's a large palette that features 24 eyeshadows split into two families--Saint ("wearable, romantic" hues) and Sinner ("bold color pops")--to mimic the look of stained glass windows. The larger size of it made it feel bulky and felt less travel-friendly, and I know that the seemingly jumbled shade arrangement has made it look less cohesive to some, but I'll say that after creating looks with it, I think the shades do come together. I think that it is a little heavier on the warm-toned side of things and could have used at least one or two cooler/more mid-tone transition type of shades, but I didn't feel like I was at a loss for creating combinations with it.
The quality was consistent with Kat Von D's typical eyeshadow formula (so not the Metal Crush formula but what's used elsewhere). The mattes are soft, a touch powdery at times, but fairly pigmented and otherwise are buildable with a shade like Exodus being thin enough to be prone to sheering out/faster fading but other mattes were easy to work with. I found that the weaker mattes were best applied over a lightly tacky base or patted/packed on with less sweeping motions. The "shimmering pearls" were smooth, soft, and blendable with good pigmentation and solid wear. The "electrifying metallics" were denser, pigmented, and wore fairly well with some being more blendable than others.
