Hard Magic is a medium-dark black with neutral undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that was somewhat buildable, but it blended terribly--even over primer!--as it applied unevenly, refused to budge, and threatened to ruin any look I tried to incorporate it with. I ended up having to layer a shade like Baltimore over it to try to erase its impact the first time I attempted to use it. On its own, it wore well for six hours on me.
