Let me start by saying I've never tried Illamasqua lipsticks. And this is the only one in my stash so far. The colour and pigmentation is absolutely fantastic (not to mention it's a true matte finish). And once it's on your lips it's never coming off! In a time span of six hours I only had to re-apply after eating squid-spaghetti...lol. However the biggest downfall of this beautiful colour is it's super dry...especially on the first application (gets better as you use it again). Don't bother using lip balm as a primer, because the colour won't show up on your lips. Worth it for the colour <3

Box by Illamasqua is surely the better formula i have ever wear in my life . It's a matte finish like the retro matte. But the formula is not drying and it's so comfortable. More over it's long long lasting . Surely my favorite lipstick formula . Love .

I’m growing to really love Illamasqua lipsticks, and colors like Atomic are a big reason why! I loved bright lips even when bright lips weren’t “cool,” and unless you feel the same, Atomic may not be the best choice for you. Illamasqua describes Atomic’s color as “Fuchsia violet,” and I find that to be a fairly accurate description. On NW15 me, Atomic is a deep but bright (if that makes any sense!) magenta, with just a trace of bluish sheen. Here’s a very thorough review of Atomic, complete with color-true photos: http://www.temptalia.com/illamasqua-atomic-lipstick-review-photos-swatches I don’t know of any exact dupes for this shade, though Bobbi Brown Rose Blossom and Stila Intriguing might be somewhat similar. As others have stated, the texture of Atomic is fairly dry, and that seems to be characteristic of Illamasqua lipsticks. This means that most may need or want a little balm underneath, but the drier texture also translates to tenacious wear. I like either colorless or magenta liner with Atomic – if you’re going to wear a color this bold, you don’t want it to look “smeary.” I’d *definitely buy Atomic again. In fact, I already own five Illamasqua lipsticks, and am eying more! Illamasqua, which offers such a great selection of bold shades, is quickly becoming my new fixation. They’re pricey, at around $24 each, and many people will need to order them online, but to me, it’s totally worth it!

This lipstick has been on my wish list for an extremely long time. I’ve had a couple of Illamasqua lipsticks in the past and wasn’t overly impressed, but this colour was too tempting. I’m disappointed. The colour is absolutely gorgeous which has saved me from giving it one star; unfortunately the texture is just too horrendous for me to give it anything higher. It tugs, pulls, and dries out your lips. I don’t know if mine is just a very bad batch because I have experienced that wish Illamasqua before, but I don’t have dry lips AT ALL, I even used a balm and blotted off before hand and had the same problem. My lips were flaking by the evening! I’d have to say, save your money and find a teal lip pencil/or make your own.

I would love to give this lipstick a higher rating because the colour is so amazing! But unfortunately the formula doesn't allow for even or easy application because it's so dry it pulls on the lips. If you can find a similar colour of eyeliner to use as a lip liner then the application will look a lot nicer, and you'll be able to achieve a good shape. Again, the colour is really something unique to find in a lipstick, and I am so happy I bought it because of that, but it's quite a pricey lipstick, and having seen many other matte finish lipsticks done with a smooth and easy to apply texture I am really disappointed that isn't the case with this one. I highly recommend it for people who don't have limits when it comes to colour, and especially for themed or costume looks. The packaging is nice, a simple black rectangular plastic bullet with the brand name down the side, which fits nicely into a standard size lipstick organiser.
