Editor's Review

Guerlain #41 Rouge G de Guerlain Lip Color (2018) ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a bright, medium pinky-coral with warm undertones and a glossy, cream finish. The pigmentation was fantastic with opaque coverage in a single layer. It had a lightweight, lightly creamy texture with enough slip to feel comfortable and give it a nice shine, but it didn't slide around when worn and seemed to make my lips appear smoother overall. It wore well for five hours and was hydrating over time.

Claims / Ingredients

For this exceptional lipstick, Guerlain has sealed intense colour and luscious lip care into a jewel formula. Enriched with plant-based polymers and silver microcrystals with a reflective power, this exceptional formula beautifully enhances lips, cloaking them in intense and luminous long-lasting colour. Jojoba and mango butter help to nourish lips, offering them instant and lasting comfort. Hyaluronic acid and gugul resin help to smooth and plump up lips. The sweet, enveloping scent of a vanilla “floriental” leaves its incomparable mark on Rouge G de Guerlain. Top notes sparkle with a lemon, orange and bergamot accord. The rose and iris heart exudes sweetness. The vanilla and tonka bean drydown gives Rouge G all of its intensity.

I really, really wanted to love this color! It is the perfect coral matte and looked so good BUT the coverage was AWFUL! I’m brown skinned and the colour looked fantastic on me but my lips aren’t so pigmented and I couldn’t get ANY coverage! It just wouldn’t “stick” beyond the thinnest, sheerest layer and went on so unevenly on my lips. If I applied two layers, it would start “pilling” in under an hour and collect in the corners of my mouth. Gross. Was I doing something wrong or was it expired or what? I wear lipstick every day and NO lipstick I've ever owned or worn has ever done this! If you have any suggestions, please share! ALSO: Guerlain makes one of my all time favourite shades which I’ve been carrying around despite it being discontinued ages ago! Divinora No. 263. Does anyone know of a dupe?? Thank you!
