An icon of the Dior look, the 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow is now reinvented with more intense pigments and richer effects. A variety of textures come together in a single palette to style the eyes with a layering technique. The Dior laboratories' expertise enables a bold, color-true result. The non-powdery texture blends into an incredibly fine film with spectacular hold, delivering a highly pigmented formula and a second-skin finish. From totally matte palettes to multi-effect harmonies, each combination of 5 Couleurs includes two double-ended foam applicators to easily blend the colors to create endless eye looks. These highly pigmented shades impart a second-skin effect with ultimate staying power.

This is certainly a festive 5-pan. I sort of lost my head when I saw it and bought it because it was just so pretty. But it's not really the most practical of palettes for someone like me. I do love it but have to remember and sort of force myself to use it just because it's not the most "every day" collection of shadows (nor was it promoted that way). I was a bit disappointed with the middle, taupe shade - it's not as pigmented or "visible" as I'd hoped, though applying with a damp sponge improves things considerably. What did come as a pleasant surprise for me is that the bottom left shade, which looks very warm and orange/coppery actually translates to a nice, wearable brown on my lids. I've not used the black shadow. I suppose it's good that it's there as there are many women who rely on a black eyeshadow, but I rarely use any of the black shadows I have (many, many, as they seem to be ubiquitous in just about every palette I own).

I purchased this back in October 2017, after seeing it here but not finding it in store at either Shoppers (the one with a Dior counter) or Sephora. I finally tracked it down at The Bay. It's a pretty pricey little palette and not quite as pigmented as I'd been expecting but given the 2 very dark shades (#1 and 5), that's not necessarily a bad thing. I always get results with this that look understated and elegant without having to worry. It would be a great palette to take on a business trip when you want to avoid looking too outrageous.
