The Grotto is a medium-dark brown with moderate, warm red undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque color coverage in a single layer, which was easily built up to full coverage. The texture was soft, smooth, and slightly firmer in the pan, so there wasn't any fallout but worked better with a moderate hand. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading noticeably.
