Pat McGrath Madame Greige & Sorry Not Sorry LuxeTrance Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Madame Greige
Pat McGrath Madame Greige LuxeTrance Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a muted, medium mauve with neutral-to-cool undertones and a satin sheen. It had rich color payoff in a single layer with a smooth, creamy texture that was slightly denser and thicker than many formulas on the market, but it didn’t actually feel heavy on the lips. The lipstick was easy to apply and comfortable to wear, which was a good thing given it lasted for six and a half hours on me. It also felt moisturizing while I wore it.

Formula Overview
$40.00/0.14 oz. - $285.71 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have a "intense color payoff" with "comfort" and "rich hydration" that has a "satiny sheen." Of the shades I've tried, they are richly pigmented, long-wearing, incredibly comfortable to wear from start to finish, hydrating, and generally flattering on the lips.
The texture was smooth, velvety, and creamy enough to glide across the lips with ease but never felt slippery or too clingy. Most shades performed exceptionally well, and while pricey, they at least lived up to a lot of the claims. There was no discernible scent or taste.

Sorry Not Sorry
Pat McGrath Sorry Not Sorry LuxeTrance Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a medium, pinky-plum with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. It had opaque color coverage in a single layer, which applied smoothly and evenly across the lips. The texture was lightweight, dense but not heavy in feel, and more flattering than most lipsticks (and my lips are in rougher shape from an abnormal amount of swatching). It wore well for over seven hours and was hydrating over time.

These A+s are very tempting…….
I’ve never been so tempted by a lipstick at this pricepoint! It really does look next level phenomenal. Would you agree with that? Maybe for a special occasion I’ll treat myself…
I think they are particularly flattering on the lips – that’s my guess as to what you’re seeing 🙂
Sorry Not Sorry looks like the perfect shade for autumn and winter! Super face brightening and most likely, very flattering on most skintones and depths. I love it!
I love Madame Greige as well, but these types of Cava-like shades can make me look deathly ill or something. Therefore, I need to try it on.
I agree completely. Bite Cava and Tarte Salt Lyfe look horrible on me, but if these photos are anything to go by, there’s more pink in this shade. It looks gorgeous… and hey, Sephora has a very forgiving return policy!
I second all of that! Madame Greige looks scarily close to Burberry Fawn Rose (Liquid Lip Velvet), which looks AWFUL on me. However it’s almost an exact dupe for ColourPop Dopey, which is one of my all-time favorites…Amazing how subtle difference in color/undertone can be make-or-break!
More very highly rated, gorgeous shades from this line! I definitely want to get one of the LuxeTrance lipsticks, but now I can’t decide which shade. I wish I could swatch these on myself.
Again, I already have dupes for these, but man, if I had unlimited $$$ and access to these, I would buy them all in a heartbeat.
You and me both! I’m hoping some will get restocked before any sales happen…
You are totally right on both counts. Restock and how next level good they look. Way overduped on Mme Greige, thank god. If it were grayer… Def will score one, but might wait until spring sale, if no restock by fall sale. Not like I need any. But, wow, are they NICE.
Oh DANG I am so attracted to Madame Greige. I didn’t think the Pat lipsticks would appeal to me but wow…. I *know* that color would look good on me and I don’t actually own any dupes. I do have Backtalk but it’s a wee bit more bright/saturated that I like. The greige-y part of this lipstick definitely calls to me…..
Madame Greige is so pretty?
They are reeeaaallly nice.
These aren’t my colours, but A+ means that they are pretty jolly good.
Wow Madame Greige looks so different from the Sephora swatch!! Looks much better here!
Agree! Huge difference
Oh wow I didn’t expect to be drawn to these but my heart is fluttering. I’m tempted by both but Sorry Not Sorry is now on my Sephora list. Adore the names, fun and spot on.
This formula sounds SO darn good. I haven’t seen the Pat McGrath range in our Sephoras yet, but I’m definitely going to keep an eye out for Greige!
It’s either going to look amazing on me or extra super horrible on me, so we’ll see ? Those balanced mauve tones tend to be one or the other on my skintone for some reason – there isn’t a lot of wiggle room in between the two ends!
Sorry Not Sorry is my kind of shade! I might need it.
Sorry not sorry looks gorgeous on you! This may be a Christmas treat!
I hope you review more of these (Sextrology, please?). They look SO different here from the way they do on Sephora’s site. So crazy to have these available only online — it’s a very spendy product to buy without trying first. I bet they get a lot of returns…
Sorry, Not Sorry!!! ?
Welp Mdm Greige and Sorry Not Sorry are both coming home with me. That earlier survey about having problems resisting new releases… my answer was I’ve gotten pretty good unless it’s a beautiful lipstick in my shade zone and both of those hit dead center in shade and quality! $38 was a genius price point too because NARS has me desensitized to that price with my Audacious addiction. If these were say $41 I would probably balk. It looks from comments like these are sold out ? I will get on the notification of restock list my beautiful babies!! I promise!
Madame Greige is gorgeous! No wonder it’s a dupe for Colourpop’s Dopey and Bite’s Cava, both colors that I love as well! Sorry, Not Sorry is beautiful as well!
Hi Christine! Super excited to pick up some of these lipsticks – especially now I know how much you enjoy the formula. Would you be able to post the ingredients or a photo of the box? I want to grab a few shades before they sell out in the VIB sale, but I want to make sure they don’t have anything I’m allergic to. I’m specifically looking to avoid Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, which breaks me out terribly. Is that ingredient in this formula? I see the matte ones have it but I’m not sure about the LuxeTrance. TY!
I don’t have any ingredient lists, unfortunately 🙁 I think they might have been on a leaflet in the box, and I recycle all boxes pretty much hours after I photograph so I don’t have any of the packaging from the line any more.
A quick Google search showed someone who did note the leaflets with ingredients though: https://imgur.com/gallery/PRTRS
