Pat McGrath Lady Stardust, Skin Flixx, Skinsane BlitzTrance Lipstick Review & Swatches
Lady Stardust
Pat McGrath Lady Stardust BlitzTrance Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a medium pink with moderate, warm undertones and fine, golden pearl throughout the cream finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which went on comfortably without tugging. The texture was lightly creamy without being too slippery, though I noticed this finish separated ab bit along my lip lines and didn’t look as smooth as other shades in the range. It wore well for four hours and was hydrating while worn.

Formula Overview
$40.00/0.13 oz. - $307.69 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "one-stroke colour" with "ultra-reflective pearls" paired with a "silky" and "creamy" texture that yields "multi-dimensional shine." The pigmentation varied from shade to shade with more medium to semi-opaque pigmentation that "full coverage," and the amount of shimmer/glitter also varied significantly from to shade. For example, Blitz Trance has a very glittery look on the lips, whereas Flesh Fatale had a subtle, sparkling finish. They had a lot of shine, though, with being wet in feel or all that glossy, which seemed to linger for longer than the average lipstick--the shine didn't immediately dull after taking a sip of something or talking for a few minutes.
The consistency was lightly creamy with moderate slip, but it didn't feel too thick or heavy, so the color didn't slide around on my lips and adhered evenly for the most part. Shades that were more glittery felt that way in the tube as I applied them to my lips with the glitter being less noticeable on my lips, though those who may be more sensitive to glitter may find it at least somewhat apparent--at the very least, this formulation is not disguising the texture of all that sparkly goodness. They were lightly to moderately hydrating, comfortable to wear, and lasted between three and five hours. I feel like the best way to sum these up as: they're sparkling and luminous with medium, buildable color payoff that lasts an average length of time. They did not have any scent or taste from what I could tell!

Skin Flixx
Pat McGrath Skin Flixx BlitzTrance Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a soft, rosy plum with warm undertones and a subtle, metallic sheen. It had opaque color payoff in one pass, which adhered evenly and smoothly on my lips. The lipstick had a creamy, moderately emollient texture that was comfortable to apply and to wear. There was a touch of product that sat in my deeper lip lines, though it wasn’t noticeable from a normal viewing distance. It stayed on nicely for four and a half hours and was moisturizing over time.

Skinsane
Pat McGrath Skinsane BlitzTrance Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a muted, light-medium pink with warm undertones and barely-there pearl. It had a more cream-like finish than overtly shimmery one, though I didn’t find it as smoothing of my lip lines as the brand’s LuxeTrance range. The consistency was creamy with light slip–enough that it glided across without tugging but didn’t feel slippery when worn. The pigmentation was nearly opaque in one pass, and the color lasted nicely for four and a half hours on me. The formula felt hydrating to me while worn.

I love the name Lady Stardust because the Ziggy Stardust album is so close to my heart. But not crazy about that shade. I do, however, like the shade Skin Flixx, but that name? Ugh, I just can’t. Fortunately I have a dupe.
Picking only one is a challenge! Especially since there is more similarities between shades than ideal. Sooo, even though I have MAC Sunny Seoul, I am veering in the direction of Lady Stardust. It’s warmer and has far better pigmentation than Sunny Seoul. Then again, I probably could just pop on Sunny Seoul with a golden Lipglass or something to get there? MAC’s own Aladdin Diamond In The Rough or get that gorgeous soft gold Marbled Faun? Hmmm?
Hmm – fairly similar shades here, but very pretty. I thought the second shade was a dupe for Honey Bear, which it is. Lovely textures to them.
These are looking very beautiful. I like Skin Flixx the best of this group.
Skin Flixx is nice; the others are too pink for me personally.
I’ve been eyeing Skinsane for a while now but looking at these swatches I may actually treat myself to Skin Flixx now that they are having 20% off. That color looks beautiful on you!
