Pat McGrath Blood 2 & Aliengelic LUST Glosses Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Blood 2
Pat McGrath Blood 2 LUST Lip Gloss ($28.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark red with cool undertones and a shiny, cream finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied evenly with minimal sinking into my lip lines–the shiny finish distracted from what little settling there was as it wasn’t noticeable in person. The consistency was smooth, lightweight, and thick enough to feel plush but not so thick that it was heavy. It lasted for four hours on me and was moisturizing.

Formula Overview
$30.00/0.15 oz. - $200.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "multidimensional shine" with a "non-sticky texture" that "nourishes" with "exceptional adherence." The opacity ranges from "opaque to transparent." The color coverage really does vary quite a bit, but most of the shades I've tried are sheer to medium in coverage--the brand could be clearer on which shades are opaque.
The consistency has a smooth, lightweight texture that wasn't tacky and was comfortable to wear. For the most part, they didn't seem to sink into my lip lines, which can be a pitfall of gloss. I didn't find the wear time to be better than average--three to four hours--but the formula was moderately hydrating. There was a subtle vanilla scent but no discernible taste when worn.

Aliengelic
Pat McGrath Aliengelic LUST Lip Gloss ($28.00 for 0.15 oz.) has a clear base with iridescent pink, violet, and silver sparkle. The gloss applied smoothly and evenly across my lips with good dispersion of the sparkle. The upside of the formulation was that it seemed to smooth out my lips, which gave them a plumper look when paired with the high-shine finish. It didn’t emphasize my lip lines and was comfortable to wear with the smooth, gel-like consistency that was mostly non-tacky. It wore well for three hours on me and was hydrating.

I want to try the clear Aliengelic. They don’t have a tester at Sephora. I want to make sure it does not have the tacky, sticky feel. I bought a beautiful clear purple by Suqqu with shimmer. I hope it is like that one.
I love the name “Aliengelic,” it reminds me of Mugler!
That’s how it struck me, too! Alien is one of my favorite perfumes.
I’m not particularly attracted to either shade, but I love the name “Aliengelic”!!!
I really wanted aliengelic but seeing the dupes and how incredibly sheer it is I won’t be getting it. I have several dupes and most recently bought nicopanda so I’m covered. I am very curious about paraphernalia. Will you be reviewing that shade as well?
Blood 2 is another beautiful, juicy red lip gloss! It’s on this dupe list I was reminded that I do have MAC Smart Aleck, so I may hold off on getting anymore red glosses for a bit.
Aliengelic is so dreamy and delightful, I’m not even trying to resist it! I would love to use it over any pinky nude (ie; MAC Please Me) that I have around here, in order to give it some fresh new life. Oh, and it’s NAME is out there somewhere!
Blood 2 is a pretty shade for spring.
Love the texture of these! Not sure if they warrant the price tag, but if they’re not tacky like Lipglass and don’t settle into lip lines, I might have to consider getting a couple shades.
I will have such a hard time deciding on just two or three of these. Aliengelic looks like a must. I do love a good shimmering lipgloss.
Sometimes I wish I didn’t despise gloss.
