OFRA Neptune Highlighter Review & Swatches
Neptune
OFRA Neptune Highlighter ($29.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a light lavender with neutral-to-cool undertones and a bright, metallic sheen. The texture was incredibly smooth and cream-like–denser, not powdery at all, but it wasn’t difficult to pick up with a brush–and blended out effortlessly on my skin. It had opaque pigmentation that applied evenly to my cheeks and highlighted without emphasizing my skin’s natural texture. This shade stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours on me before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview
$29.00/0.35 oz. - $82.86 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have a "liquid to baked technology" that has "unparalleled pigment payoff" that can be used as a highlighter as well as an eyeshadow or as a blush topper." It's a very pigmented formula with a high-shine, metallic finish that will be most suitable for someone who wants an intense highlighter.
The texture was denser but not dry or difficult to work with, so it seemed to melt onto the skin the more I buffed and blended the highlighter on. They lasted between eight and nine hours on me before fading noticeably.

This one is a real beauty! I have Prismatic Amethyst and Purple Horseshoe, but they don’t seem as intense or as cool. I may pick this one up on a sale.
Hi Rachel, I have Prismatic Amethyst and wear it occasionally but it doesn’t look the greatest on me since it appears bruise like. You are fairer than I am and you can pull it off? I might get this one if you think it would work for you?
I don’t have any problems wearing Prismatic Amethyst. Maybe it’s the difference in our undertones? Mine are neutral most of the year, and very slightly warm/yellow in summer. Maybe your cooler, pinker tones are making Amethyst pull cooler on you.
To me, this one looks darker than Amethyst, but I’m thinking the amped up shimmer might counteract that. There’s an Ulta on the way to my son’s apartment. I’ll try to stop by there this weekend and test it out. I’ll let you know how it goes.
I thought I’d really like this one but seeing it applied, it looks like it would appear almost “bruise-like” on my skin.
Neptune is something else! Just too pretty for words, really. Not a shade I can wear until deep into the cooler season. However, it’s one I may well consider for wintertime!
Super pretty!
Ofra sure turns out some beautiful highlighters. I love this one but agree with Mariella that it will likely look like a bruise on my skin tone. Rachel is fairer than I am so if she gets it and likes it I might give it a whirl, LOL!
Deborah, my local Sephora didn’t have Neptune, of course. I was going to swatch it for us.
I didn’t know I needed this until I read your review! Wow how does OFRA get its highlighters more consistently right than any other brand?! They really kill it with them.
