OCC Kelly Lip Tar/RTW
OCC Soy Latte Lip Tar/RTW ($16.00 for 0.14 fl. oz.) is a muted, medium brown with subtle, warmer undertones and a creamy finish. It was really, really pigmented, and I would recommend still using a lip brush to apply with smoother, more even coverage than using the doe-foot as this one seemed a little thick, but slippery. The color wore well for four and a half hours and was neither drying nor hydrating. MAC Dash O' Spice (LE, $21.00) is lighter, less glossy (85% similar). MAC Styled in Sepia (LE, $19.00) is lighter, brighter, warmer (85% similar). MAC Flesh Stone (LE, $21.00) is lighter, cooler, less glossy (80% similar). Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Spike (DC, $17.00) is lighter, cooler (80% similar). MAC Touch the Earth (LE, $25.00) is lighter (80% similar). MAC Self-Aware (LE, $19.00) is lighter, warmer (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
OCC Poseur Lip Tar/RTW ($16.00 for 0.14 fl. oz.) is a muted, medium pinky-lavender with gray overtones and a subtle, cooler undertone paired with a cream finish. The texture was lightweight and spreadable across the lips without issue, but the color wasn’t quite as opaque as I am used to with the Lip Tar formula–but it’s pretty opaque, still. The color lasted for five hours and faded evenly while the formula was neither drying nor hydrating over time. MAC Lavender Whip (LE, $19.00) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). Bite Beauty #005 (LE, $36.00) is less pigmented (90% similar). NYX Playdate (P, $6.00) is darker, cooler, less glossy (85% similar). NARS Dayle (P, $34.00) is darker, more muted, warmer (85% similar). Makeup Geek Trailblazer (P, $12.00) is darker (80% similar). Bite Beauty Thistle (DC, $26.00) is darker (80% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Liora (LE, $36.00) is more shimmery, lighter, less pigmented (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
OCC Kelly Lip Tar/RTW ($16.00 for 0.14 fl. oz.) is a bright, medium pink-coral with warm undertones and a frosted sheen. It had mostly opaque pigmentation with a lightweight texture that applied evenly on the lips. Some of the color gathered in my lip lines (especially on the bottom lip), but it wasn’t too noticeable from a normal viewing distance–I think the general brightness and glossiness of the finish helped camouflage it. This shade lasted for four and a half hours on me and was neither hydrating nor drying. Tom Ford Beauty Ansel (DC, $36.00) is more shimmery, darker, more muted (90% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty Have We Met? (108) (DC, $30.00) is less shimmery, more muted, less glossy (90% similar). MAC Lip Blossom (P, $19.00) is lighter, warmer, less glossy (90% similar). Chanel Roussy (426) (P, $37.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Bobbi Brown Spring Pink (DC, $37.00) is less shimmery, cooler, less glossy (85% similar). MAC Phosphorescent (LE, $17.00) is less shimmery, darker (85% similar). NARS Orgasm (P, $26.00) is less shimmery, darker, more muted (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
FORMULA OVERVIEW | OCC Lip Tar/RTW ($16.00 for 0.14 fl. oz.) is supposed to be a long-wearing, pigmented liquid lipstick. The formula is light-to-medium in weight with some shades with a thinner or thicker consistency. As you might expect, the thinner ones tend to have sheerer coverage, though the average Lip Tar is semi-opaque to intensely opaque (like the smallest amount is needed to get opaque coverage). The Metallic shades tend to be thinner and have more slip compared to the cream ones. The formula is sometimes drying, sometimes just not drying. The formula is mint-scented but has no discernible taste. The new Lip Tar/RTW comes with a doe-foot applicator, which makes it easier to apply from the tube than the original Lip Tars.

I love any color that looks like the Kelly / RTW one!
I didn’t know OCC wasn’t sold in Sephora any more! (besides the mini lip tar sets?!)
Christine, would you recommend OCC Conceal? I remember you gave it like an A+ a long time ago. I’m between that one or the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye one!
Oh, wow, they are very different! OCC’s Conceal is denser and thicker, a little drier – if you have dry skin, I’d go It Cosmetics, but if you have oilier skin, you might like the Conceal!
Thanks sooo much for your reply!! I so value your opinion!
YSL Rouge Pur #59 Golden Melon is similar ( lighter) to Kelly / RTW, check it out!
Thanks!
The Kelly lip tar is so pretty, but I can’t stand products that settle in lip lips.
I can only tolerate a little bit but not a lot 🙁
Poseur and Kelly would be my faves here but I’m not sure I could pull off either.
I wonder what you would look like with Kelly on!
I like Kelly!
It’s a fun color!
its funny an year or two ago I was looking SO hard for these grey/lavender/taupey lip colors and now they are everywhere! I was kind of ahead of the trend on that one lol. Anyway since then I have realized they really don’t work on my olive skintone although I still have my hopes I will find the right one someday.
Haha! There are so many more purples now!
None of these colors will look good on me, but glad they got nice scores. I like how Soy Latte gives a sepia look to the pictures
YES! That is exactly what I thought of when I saw Soy Latte – sepia!
I like all of them, but I may just have to grab Poseur
Nice 😉
Again, not colours that would work on me but they look like really pretty shades. I really like the colour choices in this release.
I felt like it was a good mix of unusual but “wearable” and then more non-traditional shades that OCC is famous for!
Kelly is lovely! It’s like an opaque version of NARS Orgasm.
Oh, yes!
I’m so happy you posted swatches and reviews for these UO exclusive shades! I’ve been dying to see what they look like because, you know, I need to buy them. 🙂 Can’t wait to see the other ones— oh! And Soy Latte and Kelly are totally must-haves. 🙂
I believe I reviewed them all now 🙂
Ahh! How did I miss that?! Yay! I just adore OCC. 🙂
Kelly is extremely pretty. Soy Latte isn’t my thing, but it looks good.
Kelly is a pretty hue!
Kelly is exactly my type of shade for spring and summer! I already have Maybelline’s LE from last summer, Strike A Rose lipstick and Nars Orgasm lip gloss, but I may STILL get this anyhow. It looks gorgeous on you, Christine!
EDIT: Yeah, getting it!
Thank you, Nancy! 🙂
Love your eye Look. Looks extremely good with Soy latte.
And I Need Kelly
I Love Pink lipsticks with this gold Shimmer.
I have one from by Terry but it tastes awfull.
Oh no! I hate when lip products have a taste 🙁
I think this Kelly will have to get that Kelly. Very pretty for summer. 😀
Perfect 😉
These indeed look super amazing. I love love Kelly!
Kelly is great for summer!
I think it would kill my lips but Kelly is sooooo pretty! I might have to get it anyway. ?
Aww!
YSL Rouge Pur #59 Golden Melon is similar ( lighter) to Kelly / RTW.
Awesome!
Is it my eye or does Kelly looks like UD wildfire?
Poseur is really calling me but, I’m outta reach!
Like a pink version but otherwise very different!
Kelly is so pretty! ?
Agreed!
Kelly reminds me of TF Melted Metallic Lipsticks but better!
I can see what you mean, Pavithra!
