NYX Crushed Bloom Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powder Review, Photos, Swatches
Crushed Bloom
NYX Crushed Bloom Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powder ($7.99 for 0.21 oz.) is muted, medium-dark peach with warmer, yellow undertones and a pink-to-gold shift paired with a soft, pearl finish. It yielded such a lovely glow on the skin–luminous, glowing–but never emphasized pores or appeared metallic. The shimmer in this particular shade seemed to be particularly fine.
The consistency was smooth, dense but not stiff or difficult to work with, and blended out easily on the skin. It was richly pigmented, but it was easy to control so sheerer coverage wouldn’t take real work (just a lighter touch). Depending on your skin tone, this may work as a highlighting blush or just as a highlighter. When I tried it, the highlighter lasted for eight hours on me before fading.

Formula Overview
$7.99/0.21 oz. - $38.05 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to "blend like a dream" and have a "luminous finish." The pigmentation varied from semi-sheer to mostly opaque with a denser, lightly creamy texture that felt thicker in the pan but did not look or feel that way on my skin. I would recommend using a denser brush or using a heavier hand to get product onto the brush. I didn’t feel like the powder was stiff, but it wasn’t as loosely pressed as a lot of highlighters on the market, which did make it easier to control and build coverage and sheen up. They lasted around eight hours on me.

Very nice and a great price too!
It is! 🙂
This gives your face such a lovely, subtle glow! I really like this shade.
Thank you! 😀
Ohhh that is soooo pretty on you! Good to hear it’s forgiving on pores and doesn’t look metallic!
Thank you!
This is such a pretty blush-highlighter! I love the shift especially!
The shift is awesome!
I think this is my favorite from the line. So pretty!
It’s a beauty!
Ooooh! This one is a must get! It has a surprisingly refined shimmer for DS/LE. And it would definitely work beautifully with most skintones, I would imagine, including mine. Next trip to Ulta, I will be on the lookout for Crushed Bloom!
Fingers crossed you can find it!
This looks lovely on you, Christine!
It’s the perfect combination of subtle but glowy peach, pink and overall warmth. It reminds me of Mac Pearl Sunshine Beauty Powder.
Thanks for reviewing this!
My pleasure, Jennifer!
Wow, love the pretty shimmer!! It’s amazing that this is a DS product that’s only $8, even less on sale
The finish is really nice on this shade!
Love love this colour! It looks so natural on your skintone so I think I definitely could wear this well!
Thank you!
These have been so awesome! I hope they have them at Target next time I’m there!
Fingers crossed!
This is just gorgeous – beautiful shade, great price and great rating.
I totally agree with you, Genevieve!
Oh, lovely!
It has a nice finish!
Do you think I could pull this off as a highlighting blush? Peaches and corals can go orange on me pretty easy, although I can wear Fireball without any unwanted pumpkin influences. ( The e/s, highlight and lipstick bc I’m obsessed)
I think so!
I have this one and absolutely LOVE IT!! Was pleasantly surprised by how pretty it was on the skin! The price was amazing too!
