Natasha Denona Work and Set Gel Eyeliners Reviews & Swatches
Nude
Natasha Denona Nude Work and Set Gel Eyeliner ($24.00 for 0.17 oz.) is a light peach with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. It was richly pigmented with a smooth, lightly emollient consistency that was thin, spreadable, and easy to work using different eyeliner brushes. It applied evenly to my lash line and set fast enough not to get into my fine lines but gave me enough time to perfect it.
The color lasted well for 10 hours before fading/thinning on my lower lash line, and there was around 60% left after the full 16 hours I tested it for (because that’s what the brand claimed).
Also, it would have been nice if this shade was called Beige or Peach, since that’s really more the color it is vs. “nude,” which is a concept, not a specific color.

Formula Overview
$24.00/0.17 oz. - $141.18 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to stay on for 16 hours "without smudging or transferring," while still being "flexible and comfortable." They are supposed to have "full coverage" and have the "fluid precision of a liquid eyeliner." They worked well on me as eyeliner, though I also tried them as cream eyeshadows/bases as they had a texture that worked well for all-over use, but I found they did crease on me faster as a lid shade compared to fading/thinning as an eyeliner.
The texture was smooth, emollient, and not too thick or thin, and it had the fluidity of a gel-based eyeliner but the opacity of a cream. It was easy to work with an assortment of eyeliner brushes. The formula dried down fairly quickly but not so fast that I felt like I had to rush while working with it. Once it set, it stayed in place well for 10 hours before looking thinner/slightly faded, and it was fairly intact after 16 hours--I'd say 70% or so remained.

Brown
Natasha Denona Brown Work and Set Gel Eyeliner ($24.00 for 0.17 oz.) is a medium brown with subtle, warm red undertones and a matte finish. The texture was smooth, lightly emollient, and had good glide that was quick to dry down–I felt like this particular shade dried faster than others.
It applied well with an angled eyeliner brush and deposited even, mostly opaque coverage in a single layer. The eyeliner stayed on well for 10 hours before looking a little worn, though it was around 70% intact after 16 hours of wear, which was how long it was marketed for.

Black
Natasha Denona Black Work and Set Gel Eyeliner ($24.00 for 0.17 oz.) is a deep black with neutral undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had opaque color coverage in a single stroke, which applied fluidly across my skin without tugging. It deposited even coverage as I applied the brush against my lash line.
The formula dried down somewhat quickly, but I didn’t feel too rushed while working with it, and it ensured that the eyeliner didn’t gravitate into my fine lines as it was setting. It wore well for 10 hours before starting to look thinner/slightly faded, and it was around ~70& intact after the 16-hours promised.

I don’t think these are anything spectacular, particularly for the price. It would have been lovely to see more inspiring colours rather than the nude, brown and black.
I don’t get ad hoc additions to a line that aren’t absolutely stellar. Why bother?
Can we please have Retro Cheek palette instead? Thanks.
OMG the black looks like a real winner.
Just an FYI, Urban Decay’s Walk of Shame eyeliner is discontinued 🙁
I bought the black shade recently but haven’t tried it yet so I’m glad to see it getting good reviews. I only use potted gel liner and an angled brush and my favorite for the last few years has been from Illamasqua but if this one is just as good or better, I’ll be happy to switch as Illamasqua is only available online and shipping isn’t cheap to the US.
