If I had to guess very few people would actually only put only Nars products in it. I figure it will function more like a typical zpalette for most.

I’m wondering the same bout the duos. Both are $18? Seems almost too good to be true for Nars pricing. But, I’m all over it if is!

Ooh, so interesting! I see some shadows I like, and others that came in a duo, but I only wanted one of them, so nice to see I can buy it in single.

Most of those duo shades are from the permanent line. I was looking for Jardin Perdu, hoping maybe it was going to be more widely available but, sadly, no….

As an avid Z-palette user, this will definitely encourage me to try more NARS blushes! This is very exciting for me. Maybe I’ll finally get around to buying Carmen in the Audacious line, which I want but I didn’t want to place a NARS.com order just for one lipstick.

I agree! I have a palette of depotted blushes, and I could see myself buying NARS blush pans to add in. Seems smart of them to offer pans as a line addition.

I definitely need a few of these. I’ve been wanting to depot my NARS products for the sake of convenience, but I just find Z palettes to be far too expensive for what they are, and I honestly think they look a bit tacky, so I’m really looking forward to these.

They do look tacky tbh! And, you know, my favorite thing to do is watching YouTube videos of people’s eyeshadow collections. Most of them have at least one Z palette full of sad looking depoted eyeshadows, which they say they never ever use. I mean, I wouldn’t either, I like my eyeshadows in their original pretty packaging. If you’re going to fill those palettes with shadows that don’t have packaging to beging with, that’s a different story, of course. Just my opinion.

Wow! Thanks for posting this. I wish there was a way I could remove all of my exisiting duos and singles and put into one palette. Guess we’ll have to wait and see how the packaging is to see if there’s any way to do this.

Have a great weekend!

You can depot them from their little containers with floss! I’m not sure if you’d need magnets for the back of the pans but you can definitely remove them. I have a video on my blog that shows how to do it. You take a long length of floss (more than you think you’ll need) and wedge it between the pan and the side of the little palette, shove it down with a needle, loop it around the edge of the pan and start to rock back and forth to break the glue. It is actually pretty simple once you get the process down. If the pan won’t stick, attach a magnet to the back and voila! Depotted Nars! πŸ™‚

Well this is super exciting! I may actually get around to purchasing some more of the duos which I’ve liked but never wanted to pay $25 for but $18 is way more reasonable. Also because I assume they will be magnetized they can fit into Z-palettes instead of having to buy there palette although they would probably be worth checking out too. I’m excited about this launch!

They should have done this years ago! No wonder they call NARS the next MAC. I remember depotting all my eyeshadows and blushes and put them in Z palettes back in the days…Of course this layout would be more beautiful and cleaner-looking than my home-made project. It’s funny that the single pans cost the same with duos. The only thing I will say is, when the pans get too close, it is gonna be pretty messy, you will get powders mixed with one another after regular use.

I never thought of that. I was just thinking that having them so close to another is nice to maximize space. But clearly I’m not a pro lol. Guess organizing these palettes will take a bit more planning.

SO happy that NARS is doing this! I find the palette more appealing than the 1 Z Palette I have- plus it is cheaper. And… I can finally try some of the blushes. Yay!

I am ridiculously excited about this! I de-pot everything anyways into z-palettes, so this will make it easier and less expensive. I can see myself really indulging in some NARS now.

I’m surprised they haven’t done this earlier! Any word on exact dimensions for the palettes? I can see how many eyeshadows fit into the large and blushes into the small, but I would wonder about mixing blushes/bronzers/contour all in the large?

AW MANNNNNN This is dangerous news, folks.

The very big positives: The palettes seem to be cheaper than Z-Palette, and the refills are cheaper than the stand-alone products.
Cons: I wish there were more colors available! Many on my wishlist are absent here…

I’ll definitely get at least a duo! I’ve been wanting Kauai for a while, and for $18, I’ll do without the black compact and use a magnetic palette instead!
I wonder if the Dual Intensity shadows and blushes will be made as refills eventually?

πŸ™ No Lhasa in the singles? My favourite Nars eyeshadow and it’s not available (even though none of this will be available where I live).

I love that the customizable palette trend is going (more) commercial. It’s making makeup so much more affordable not just for pros but makeup lovers, as well. Most of us already have palettes and have been depotting for years. Yay!

As always, thank you for reporting, Christine.

Oh, bloody boy! Spent sooo many hours deporting Nars, bec. The rubberized stuff gets big icky @ my house…and I have ~ 20 years of Nars stuff that, fortunately, does NOT rot… And never again! Couldn’t be more psyched! Nars with no grubby! I love it! The thing about Zs, admittedly some ARE tacky, is that there are so many patterns that you will know where your stash is by the color of the palette. Don’t have too many holes in Nars, but this is fabulous, and I know now I might succumb to things I’ve been back burnering, like All About Eve. Thanks, Francois et al!

I bought the Zpalettes in different colors, and color coded them to the palettes. Blues in blue ones, yellows in a yellow one, greens in a peacock feather patterned one, etc. It’s very handy, and I don’t think they look tacky.

There’s also an Etsy shop called Book of Shadows that makes very classy, beautiful versions. I haven’t bought from them yet, but I’m planning on an order soon.

This is a welcome concept for me! I see some goodies I would love to put together in a customized palette form: Kuala Lumpur, Isolde, New York, Bengali, Outlaw, Dolce Vita, etc.

I am excited about this as there a few eyeshadows and blushes I want to add to my collection but don’t need more packages to fill up my organizer. I will wait until the USD/CAD rate is better before I order anything from the website.

This is a great idea – you can get the colours you know that work on you in one handy palette. You are not wasting your money on colours that you don’t use/can’t wear. Very handy.

So awesome that more companies are catching on to this trend of customizable palettes!!!! Yes!!! I just made my own 20 pan inglot palette when I was in Las Vegas and it’s like addicting, you just have to keep buying until it’s filled up! Smart move, Nars. I hope they add the dual intensity shadows because then I’ll definitely be buying some, as I have the narcissist palette with them, and I’d love to have the new shades, but dislike buying eyeshadow singles. (I only make exceptions for Colourpop and inglot these days)

I noticed that not all products are available in this pan form. For example, the blush in Madly is not available for purchase in this form, and it has not been discontinued from the permanent line.

I am excited!.. I’ve lugged my Nars products around in MakeUpForever paletts for years and this will be lovey..but..I’m worried because the Nars powders are very soft and prone to breakage..
I’m looking for anyone with first hand experience with them and if they are sturdy to travel about??

On the Nars website, the duo-eyeshadow pans are $25! It looks like Temptalia and other makeup website were either misinformed, or Nars screwed up their pricing online hehe. I’m going to shoot them an email to ask about it.

Wondering if anyone know when will these be out in Europe?
They are already out for shopping in america but no idea when they will come to the rest of the world.

x

I saw these on their website and was tempted. What material is the case made of? Does the magnetic base grip the metallic cosmetic pans firmly? Thanks!
