NARS Oasis Blush Review, Photos, Swatches (2013)

NARS Oasis Highlighting Blush
NARS Oasis Blush

NARS Oasis Highlighting Blush ($29.00 for 0.16 oz.) is described as a “sparkling pink champagne.” It’s a softened, reddish-plum with a hint of golden shimmer that translates to a shimmer-sheen when applied to the skin. NARS Debbie Harry #1 is similar but has silver sparkle. theBalm Cabana Boy is slightly less red (more plum).

This blush is nicely pigmented, and you should have no trouble building up color to true-to-pan payoff or going for something softer and sheerer. There are a few bits of golden sparkle but they seem to get lost before they even hit the skin, as I couldn’t detect them on the skin. Instead, there was a faint golden sheen that was quite lovely on the skin as it did not emphasize pores.  Oasis should be flattering across skin tones, because it’s not too dark or too light, not too warm or too cool-toned.  The texture is soft, finely-milled, and very blendable on the skin.  It applies evenly and sits well on the skin, and then it wears well–a solid eight hours and only minimal fading after nine hours.

This is lovely and a must-have in any make-up wardrobe.
I have to say that i am loving the photos, Christine. By highlighting the one product (no eye mu and a subtle lip colour) is the best way to focus on the product that you are reviewing. Excellent work!!

If only this was a matte shade… Really lovely on you, Christine, but unfortunately nothing for me as I don´t care for shimmery blushes.

wow that’s really pretty on you Christine! a very cute flush.. unfortunately on my skintone (east asian), it made me look like I had way too much to drink and not in a good way… so I gave mine away to my bff, her skin tone is darker than mine and thought it would look lovely on her..

Love this! I rarely stray from my staple blushes (Benefit Sugarbomb and MAC Gingerly) but I really, really love this. I will definitely be picking it up.

As with foundation, I like blush to look natural, and shouldn’t be “obvious”. This shade fits the bill, and when I need to pick up more blush, this will be on the list. I agree this would work for just about any skintone/coloring, and will play nice with most makeup looks.

Has this been reformulated? I have an old version (like 5 years old) and it’s glitter bonanza. I LOVE the base color, but unfortunately it’s completely unwearable because of all the sparkles.

You look absolutely ravishing, Christine!! Just a quick question: you’re not wearing foundation in this photo are you? If so, it’ll be proof that you have a lit-from-within-glow that is truly natural!

I was literally debating between this and Madly. I decided on Madly and loving it. But sure enough, I’m still considering this!

Christine, do you would this pair well with pink/fuchsia/magenta-ish lip colors like MAC’s Daddy’s Little Girl and Outrageously Fun?

Unless it’s (too) red, would it be too much for Ronnie Red or Ruffian Red?

Gaby Avatar

I would LOVE it if you could, with all your knowledge and experience, teach us about pairing lips and cheeks… This is what I struggle with!!!

Christine, can we do a take two?

Madly for reds?

Oasis and Gaiety for cooler, blue-based medium pink lips?

Thanks in advance! =D

Love this shade, shows up so well in photos, not talked about nearly enough on the blogosphere!
I always remember falling asleep after a night out wearing this and all my make up had smudged/oxidized/wore off except this little baby which was still perfectly blended on my cheek bones <3
What's your favourite Nars blush Christine?

Love! It’s interesting that someone asked about the similarity between this and Tarte’s “Exposed”. Although they are very different, I love the Tarte one and am drawn to this one too. Somehow makes me wonder if it is a taste thing. The person who likes one might like the other, etc. An example: my brother in law told me I might like The Pixies, because I like The Cure. He said they are not alike in sound, but the people who like one tend to like the other too, for seemingly unrelated reasons. I guess the same thing happens in cosmetics too!

I recently bought and I’ve been loving it since then!A bit irrelevant but between Douceur and Exposed which one would you recommend on NW20 skin?
