NARS Mitzi Sheer Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches

One Sheer, Shimmery Lipstick Coming Right Up!

NARS Mitzi Lipstick ($24.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “sheer muted strawberry pink with soft shimmer.” It’s a soft, rosy brown with a natural sheen. Chanel Superstition looks similar on the lips, though it more golden-shimmered and less pink-toned. Clarins Rosewood is more opaque. MAC Viva Glam V is pinker. Guerlani Rose Ensoleille is darker, pinker.

This shade is part of NARS’ Sheer lipstick range, which is designed as sheer color with long-wear and has a hydrating formula. Mitzi is lightweight, sheer, and wears three and a half hours on me, which isn’t bad for such a sheer shade. This particular lipstick imparts more shimmer than actual color, so the more pigmented your lips are, the less you’ll notice your lip color changing, but you will see a soft, frosted sheen/shimmer on them instead. It was lightly hydrating but not a full-on moisturizing lipstick; after wearing it twice in a row, I needed lip balm an hour later.  It is scent- and taste-free.

This is lovely on you! A very soft and feminine shade. I could see a color like this replacing a nude lipstick (which I find so difficult to make work) in my makeup routine.

You are so lucky because I feel that your coloring makes it easy for you to look nice in a lot of colors. Still, I think colors like this complement you more than any others.

It is, but on someone like me, very pale with lips with very little color, the sheer pink in it is perfect. I get more compliments. But if you have pigmented lips you probably won’t like it. As I said above, I keep backups of this shade. Most lipsticks that people describe as MLBB on me look ridiculous, as bright as a red or wine…

Agreed Jessi, that is a very good point.

I was having a moment of “mom-ness” thinking why on earth would I pay that much for something a lip balm would do? I do have some pigment so it would get lost on my lips i think.

i like it, but it’s really basic. I feel like somewhere I have to have a fairly sheer neutral lipstick, and I’m thinking maybe I have a Revlon that’s similar or something.

This has been my everyday shade forever-I have very pale lips, and it’s perfect for me on my fair skin. This is one lipstick I keep back ups of, and other than Chanel Metallic Vamp (dc’ed) the only tube I have ever completed.

No wonder I like this one- I like MAC’s Viva Glam 5 too. Is Mitzi sold at Sephora? I just looked through Sephora’s Nars lipsticks and although I could have missed it, I didn’t see Mitzi.

You know this lipstick caught my eyes…Mitzi is a rare name especially for an Asian American girl. I think this color would also look great with my skin color….Will be purchasing this…
