NARS Anguilla Matte Multiple Review, Photos, Swatches
NARS Anguilla Matte Multiple
NARS Anguilla Matte Multiple ($39.00 for 0.26 oz.) is described as a “ginger pink.” It’s a light-medium pink with warm, yellow undertones and a satin-matte finish. Hourglass Radiant Magenta (P, $35.00) is lighter. NARS Love (LE, $29.00) is darker, less pink. Physicians Formula Natural (P, $11.99) is more shimmery. Chanel Revelation (63) (P, $38.00) is brighter, pinker. See comparison swatches.
It has a near-matte finish that has enough to it (so hard to describe it as a sheen, as it is so subtle!) that it doesn’t look completely matte, but it won’t emphasize pores or skin imperfections as there’s no shimmer to the finish. It had excellent color payoff in a single pass, but it can be applied more sparsely for less coverage, as the formula has a velvety, silicone-like consistency that makes blending fairly easy. It can be applied wet for sheerer coverage from the start (drier application will yield more color payoff). As a blush, it wore well for seven hours before showing signs of fading. As a lip color, it lasted two and a half hours, and it was very drying and uncomfortable to wear, as it tended to cling and sink into lip lines over time. For more of an overview of the Matte Multiple formula, check out this post.

Another too warm for me product. I find it’s kinda odd how different it looks on the lips vs the cheek.
I don’t think it’s really odd, since I’m not wearing it at 100% opaque intensity on cheeks – blended out – and my skin color is drastically different from my lip color! 🙂
it is soooo very pretty! Looks tailor made for ur skintone!
Thanks!
I definitely want to try one of these! And I like how it’s not complete matte.
Yay!
beautiful color! my question is not about this product, but which lip liner matches with MAC Rebel?
Sorry, I very rarely use lip liner, so I don’t know of one from experience!
You might want to try Urban Decay Venom lip liner. Though it’s not an *exact* match, I think it compliments Rebel nicely.
Nyx’s slim lip pencil in deep purple is also a good option and at a fraction of the cost of Mac’s lip pencils!
I love this color, and it’s prettier on the lips than the other one you reviewed, but it does look rather drying.
It was very uncomfortable to wear on the lips!
Yeah, These are really nice as standalone blushes! The color payoff is so intenseesp with deeper shades! They really should stop being marketed as multiple unless they can find a formula that performs well on lips too! But i am really loving the range as a cheek product!
I wish they were just blushes!
I agree!
This looks great as a blush! On the lips, not so much. Since the price went up, I’ll probably pass on these unless there’s a really special one.
Or maybe there’ll be a sale or mini-set for the holidays.
That would be great! From your mouth to Nar’s ears 😉
This is the only shade in this collection that I can use. Not too warm or too dark. Yay! Now if I can just find out what the ingredients are…
This one looks very soft and natural!
It really is such a shame they didn’t bother with the formula being actually nice on lips though…
Maybe I’m just the weird one out that doesn’t like them on lips!
I love this color! However, my skin is kind of oily and I always get nervous about cream blushes. Has anyone with oily skin used Nars’ Multiple?
It should last better on oily skin than some cream blushes, because the finish is more velvety/silicone-like, so it shouldn’t slide around as much as a more emollient blush would.
Thanks so much, Christine! I’ll have to get myself to Sephora pronto.
This looks so beautiful on your cheeks, Christine!
Thanks, Michelle!
I’m most likely going to cave & pick this one up. It’s sooo pigmented, especially for such a light shade, and it doesn’t read particularly warm-toned on my skin. Maybe I can find a way to depot it…
I’m sure you could depot it!
Not quite matte but yet no ugly pore emphasizing? Perfect! 😀
Yay!
I like the look of it on the cheeks!
Yay!
Hi 🙂 it’s really pretty and I would love it…. but I had Chanel Inspiration cream blush for Christmas and I’m wondering if its similar when blended on the cheek? Is it only a bit darker than this? Thanks 🙂
Chanel has a little more of a satin finish, and it is a smigden cooler-toned.
This looks super pretty on your cheeks Christine!
Thanks, Howdee!
Haw it is possible to find products which you mark as ”product 10/10”, or ”9/10”, by category, for example i want to find best blush by ”10/10”, and etc.
Hi Oksy,
You can view by rating (see sidebar), but you can’t select individual metrics at this time!
It actually looks great on your lips, Christine! Too bad it’s drying!
It is the same shade on both full-face photos, right? Only because the first picture appears more pink than the brown on the second picture. 🙂
Hi Abigail!
The first photo with Anguilla as a blush has Altai on the lips!
Now that makes sense – thank you!
