NARS Lipgloss – Supervixen, Istria, Angelika, Priscilla, Easy Lover, Turkish Delight
Angelika is described as a “cotton candy pink with gold particles.” It’s a cool-toned, light-medium pink with blue undertones and subtle gold sparkle. It had semi-sheer color coverage, but it did not apply evenly and tended to settle into lip lines. It lasted for four hours, which is about average for me. MAC Fearless (LE, $20.00) is less glossy, darker. Milani Pink Lady (07) (P, $5.49) is slightly darker, less cool-toned. L’Oreal Florid Pink (LE, $7.99) is less glossy. NARS Coeur Sucre (P, $26.00) is slightly lighter, more pigmented. MAC Silly (LE, $15.00) is less blue-based, darker. MAC Pink Nouveau (LE, $15.00) is more pigmented, less shimmery. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Priscilla is described as a “shocking pink.” It’s a vibrant, fuchsia pink with a creamy, glossy finish. It had mostly opaque pigmentation with just a tiny bit of translucency. It applied evenly and smoothly, while the color lasted for five hours. MAC Pink Poodle (By Request) (LE, $15.00) is more shimmery. MAC Girl About Town (LE, $15.00) is darker, more shimmery. MAC Embrace Me (LE, $15.00) is less blue-based, more shimmery. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Easy Lover is described as a “ultra-sheer hot pink.” It’s a muted, cool-toned pinky-purple with iridescent shimmer. It is, as described, incredibly sheer. On my lips, it just made them look slightly pinker and added some shimmer, but it’s barely-there. The color seemed to emphasize my lip lines. It lasted for two and a half hours on me. MAC Playful Petal (LE, $20.00) is very similar. Revlon Sugar Violet (P, $7.99) is more pigmented. MAC Rhythm (LE, $15.00) is warmer. Chanel Chelsea (LE, $29.50) is similar. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Turkish Delight is described as a “pink sherbet.” It’s a pinky-beige with subtle warm undertones and a creamy, glossy finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage but settled into lip lines, though the color seemed to apply fairly evenly otherwise. It lasted for three hours on me. Chanel Rosace (87) (LE, $27.00) is more shimmery. Maybelline Petal Plush (100) (P, $8.99) is similar. MAC Picture Pink (LE, $15.00) is less glossy. MAC Angel (LE, $15.00) is darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Tasmania is described as a “pink cantaloupe.” It’s a light-medium, warm-toned pink with a creamy, glossy finish. It had semi-sheer color coverage, and it does settle into lip lines. The color managed to wear for three hours on me. NARS Belize (P, $26.00) is a bit darker, less milky. Urban Decay Flushed (P, $19.00) is darker, less glossy. Chanel Murmure (179) (P, $29.50) is slightly warmer. Maybelline Caramel Infused (065) (P, $8.99) is warmer. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
NARS Lipgloss ($26.00 for 0.18 fl. oz.) has been reformulated, and the new formulation will launch on April 15th with 30 permanent shades–seven are new and permanent, 23 are shades that were available in the previous formula. NARS says the new formula is supposed to have “longer, more comfortable wear,” while being hydrating and smoothing with a “silky texture.” The texture is thin, somewhat tacky (the more shimmery shades seemed slightly tackier than the creamier ones), unscented (and no signs of a plastic, waxy, or crayon-like scent), with two to five hours of wear time, and is moderately hydrating. The formula is thinner and less sticky (5 or 6, compared to an 8 on the original formula, on a 10-point scale), and I found it more comfortable to wear overall. Note, the reformulated glosses are more expensive and contain less product.

I like the look of Angelika, too bad it has a meh rating. Turkish Delight looks nice!
I wish these applied better! 🙁
They are all so pretty on you!
Aww, thanks Shipra! <3
Angelika is the prettiest, I wish it rated higher. It’s also one of my favorite blushes. 😉
Me too! It’s a shade probably best over a lipstick or liner.
Wow…Easy Lover is a major disappointment. It looks so striking in the tube, but then it practically applies completely clear. 🙁
Yup! Thank goodness they wrote it was “ultra-sheer” otherwise I would have been blindsided!
Yeah, I really like that shade in the original formula, too. Guess I’ll have to stock up before it’s replaced!
Could you list the mascara you use in the “The Makeup Look” section? Your lashes look great in these pictures.
Urban Decay’s curling mascara!
I like Angelika..but the settling into lip lines doesn’t show up very much in your photos. Nice to see it and Priscilla actually have some coverage. The rest are just not my thing.
It’s not TOO too bad. Priscilla is definitely one of my favorites thus far.
Hmm I feel like so far this re-promotion has been a little underwhelming…thanks for the fabulous reviews though!
No prob, Miki! 🙂
Angelika and Priscilla are so coming home with me! They are so gorgeous!
Haha! Enjoy, Fancie!
Priscilla is nice!!!
It is!
Love-love-love Priscilla!!
I kind of figured that would be the talk of the post, lol!
I’m liking Priscilla. Sometimes a nice pop of color is great. It looks good on you.
Thanks, Valerie 😀
My favorite is the Priscilla. It looked beautiful on your lips. I have just really started my Nars collection an so far I have got 2 of their blushes and the Narsissist blush/bronzer LE set. Thanks for your honest review on the lip glosses. You can see my small Nars collection on my blog if you would like to or have the time to check it out. I would be honored.
So glad you’re enjoying your foray into NARS, Beth!
Aww, it’s a shame Angelika is settle-y – the colour looks so pretty! (don’t think I’m the first to say this either :-P)
I was so surprised by how pale Easy Lover is when applied – it’s so vibrant in the tube :-O
With that said, at least they all do look lovely on you in the full face shots, Christine! Even if some of the application is variable. 🙂
Thank you, Sylirael! 🙂
I wish Easy Lover just looked as sheer in the tube as it does applied. I know they described it as “ultra sheer,” so at least there’s that.
Argh, why why WHY can’t Easy Lover look as gorgeous out of the tube as it does inside it? If it was semi-sheer or mostly opaque, I would be all over it, because I love that iridescent blue-toned fucshia! I can’t believe its almost completely clear…I thought nothing could be less pigmented than Revlon Sugar Violet (which I bought because it looked so lovely and raspberry-purple in the tube…sigh).
Oh well, at least I’ve got Revlon Colorburst Adorned, nothing beats that for a colorful gloss 🙂
LOL! I don’t know why brands insist on making glosses LOOK bold and pigmented in the tube and then not.
Beautiful shades!! But hey, do you already played with Smashbox full exposure? if yes, do you think it’s worth it?
Sorry, I haven’t!
I own Turkish Delight and I really like how it look and I didn’t find it too sticky or thick, but the “scent” of plastic/wax drove me crazy! It’s good to hear they removed that aspect in the new formula so I might buy it again because I absolutely LOVE how it gives nude lipsticks that gorgeous shine, or how beautifly tones down some of the bolder lipstick for a natural look.
Thanks for sharing your reviews! Thanks to you I’ve never been disappointed on any purchase after I found you 😀
xo.
No problem, Magdalena! Always happy to help 🙂
PRISCILLA, and Angelika are my Favs here.. both looks amazing on u.. 🙂
Thanks, Poo!
Do you have the old Angelika Christine? I have it but I don’t remember it being so uneven or that it settled into lines. I thought it was actually one of the better ones from Nars. Perhaps its because I haven’t used it in such a long time. I’m tring to get a feel between the new and old formulations of the same colors. Turkish Delight looks pretty close to the old one though!
The older one was thicker and a little more pigmented, but I think the thickness worked to keep it from settling as much.
Priscilla is stunning! Easy Lover is shockingly sheer though, it looked wonderfully bright and rich in the tube to me!
I know! Such a huge surprise.
Oh my!! All shades look beautiful on you 🙂
Thank you!
Very uneven collection.
I really like Priscilla and I’m glad it’s not one of the sheer ones.
I think I’ll save my money on these, though.
Excellent testing, as always. I’m thinking I’ll never buy anything in the future unless it’s approved by you, Christine.
I agree! There is a lot of sheerer and the ones more opaque tend to be uneven.
Priscilla is so much fun. And I’ve been wearing a lot of Turkish Delight lately. I can’t wait to see more of these.
Do you wear Turkish Delight alone or over other lipsticks?
I’m lusting for Nars Glosses after all these posts!
What are your favorites so far?
Aww maaaan…Easy Lover is such a let down. I am all about the color in the tube. If this were opaque or even semi-opaque, I’d snag in a heartbeat. 🙁
I can imagine someone seeing it store and going, “WHAT?!”
Priscilla is my favourite love the look of these glosses.
It’s a nice shade!
Priscilla is very pretty!
It is! xo
