NARS All That Glitters Cheek Palette Review & Swatches
All That Glitters
NARS All That Glitters Light Reflecting Cheek Palette ($60.00 for 0.60 oz.) is a new, limited edition cheek palette that included six shades with varying levels of shimmer but all had some sheen to them. The formula was a gel-powder-based blush, which meant that they felt firm to the touch but picked up well with a moderately-dense brush and had a “melted” effect on skin that gave it a more seamless result. All six shades were similar in feel and application, and the biggest “con” of the palette was that it was more pigmented than marketed, but the firmness of the powder makes it easy to control the pickup if one prefers sheerer application.

From NARS’ website, their blush formula is described as “beautifully pigmented” and “soft [and] blendable.” NARS' blushes, since they've been released in such a massive range of shades over the years, can vary from shade to shade to some degree. Most shades are pigmented with firmer, slightly stiffer consistencies that can also run on the thinner side, which allows greater control when picking up product but some of the more matte shades could be a bit more blendable or easier to work with.
Some of the more newly-released shades have softer, more yielding textures that are a bit creamier and are easier to blend out, though most of NARS' blushes are fairly blendable. The wear typically ranges from eight to nine hours with a few shades falling above or below this range.

Uggh…. I was hoping not to like this!
I will definitely have to check this out!
This looks like a good option for those who don’t want to pay $90 for the Hourglass Ambient Edit. As someone with super pale skin, I would have to be particularly careful but again, my daughter would likely use it and enjoy it. Every year I have purchased the Hourglass Holiday palette but while she uses them, they aren’t her favorite. I don’t know that this would be either as she really likes blushes without any shimmer or sheen. She has really oily skin and always feels like the shimmer/sheen makes her look even oilier. So, I will likely pass on this.
This is a really glowing, but not glittery cheek palette that I am totally loving! Plus, my favorite shade is named after my daughter!
The only thing that has me thinking about hitting the brakes is that I do have a similarly orange leaning face palette from just last year in Hourglass Tiger… 🤔
Oooo I didn’t want this but the swatches are GORGEOUS!
Based on the pans,I never expected an orange palette. Unfortunately, I love orange!
I’m actually glad this is too metallic and much too warm for me bc I don’t need another Nars cheek palette lol!
I took a leap and grabbed this on sale and I really love it. The blushes are really beautiful. I wasn’t a big fan of the highlighters… but mixing them together makes them look so much more natural and wearable on my light skin. Absolutely gorgeous and completely recommend!
I think it’s pretty hard to get all the shades in any one palette to be as good as each other and Nars has done very well here in terms of quality. I guess the issue would be if you would actually use all of the blushes in this palette – they are definitely suited to more warm toned complexions.
They do blushes the best in my opinion. I don’t need this, but I SOOOO do like it. Definitely one that would add a new set of colors to what I have, but since I’m not a blush person, I’ll abstain (while sitting on my hands so as not to go to the site to purchase it). Ha!
Every single color in that palette looks beautiful on you, Christine. And that lip color on you is gorgeous!
I’m a bit bummed that Nars doesn’t come out with two or three color story options for the holidays, like Hourglass, that would be suitable for different skintone undertones (e.g., one warm, one cool, one colorful…). I love the light pink shade, but the rest are just so orange…if you have light skin, even with a light touch, this will never look good (I also swatched this at a beauty store…)
I have to know, what is the lip color Christine is wearing with these? It looks so good with all the colors..
