NARS 413 BLKR Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches
NARS 413 BLKR Lipstick
NARS 413 BLKR Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “warm rose brown.” It’s deepened, warm red with subtle brown undertones and a matte finish. It immediately reminded me of NARS Amsterdam, which is slightly warmer, but I think the two are quite similar (to the point where you wouldn’t need both unless you wear it all the time already). MAC Legendary is browner, warmer. MAC Pre-Raphaelite is more metallic. See comparison swatches.
It is only lightly creamy, so it tugged a bit when I applied it, but it was opaque once applied. It had a mostly matte finish that did look just slightly dry on the lips, so I would recommend properly exfoliating prior to application to get the most out of this (and least amount of product catching on any imperfections). 413 BLKR was somewhat drying over the six-and-a-half hour wear time–it left behind a reddish stain that lingered for another two hours. Â There was no discernible scent or taste.

Ahh, this would be gorgeous as an evening shade when you are going out. 🙂 -especially in Autumn
Nom nom nom, I love the various wine shades of lipstick. I’m sold.
Wow, this is gorgeous! Bold, but totally wearable. Will be looking for this one when Fall rolls around 🙂
I was going to buy this today. Its so pretty – looks very similar to how MAC’s dark side looks on me though.
Lovely colour, not as brown as I’d feared. Did you find it drier than Nars’ other semi-matte formula lipsticks? Those don’t usually bother me, but I can see why you said this one looks dry on the lips.
Slightly drier but not a lot drier.
Beautiful shade, but I can’t justify buying any more lip products right now… I have well over 100, and need to finish at least 10 before I buy another.
I feel your pain :))
I find this review interesting. You mentioned a lot of negatives about the product, but still gave it such a high score. It is a nice color.
It had 100% full color payoff and wore a really long time – both things that helped to balance out the drawbacks (on a rating scale).
Hey Christine: This is really pretty but me and NARS lip products do not get along. I end up with desert lips which take days to repair. I wondered instead if this might be similar to Buxom Runaway?
Hey! So Runaway is warmer, lighter — more of a brown than a red, whereas this is more red than it is brown. If you have naturally redder lips, it might make them more similar applied, though!
OMG!!! This lippie is so pretty. Love the shade for wearing this kind of color will def make you look sexy. I think its a must try if you love lippies. I’ll def check on this one….
I’d rather have Pre-Raphaelite (if only for the name)…
Christine- how does this compare to NARS Gipsy? Is it more brown-toned than that? I know it’s prob more opaque BC of the different finishes.
Thansk so much & keep up the great work!
I don’t have that shade – sorry Michelle!
I purchased it, it’s a very deep colour indeed, a bit dry for the lips as always ( the semi-matte formula is drying I think ). I love both the lipstick and the deep blue nail polish. It’s my 1st BLKR purchase !
A bit matte for me but it looks pretty on you 🙂
Can someone explain to me what the acronym “BLKR” means? Does it mean “blacker”? It’s taken me ages to figure out some of UD’s acronyms and as I don’t really read or write “text-speak” very well (I count on my kids to explain a lot of that stuff to me), I’m curious….
It is their flagship boutique — 413 Bleecker St, New York, NY 10014. 413 BLKR.
Thanks, Christine!
Gorgeous shade! Now I’m ready for autumn!!
Lovely! I think I’ll be picking this up
This color is so pretty and classy on you Christine, but I guess it would look too vampy with my fairs skin tone…
I’m surprised at how red it pulls on your lips. On my lips it’s closer to the colour in the swatches, ie more brown. It’s not a dead 90’s brown though, it’s lovely.
I didn’t find it drying at all, but then I’m a lip balm freak. I’m usually very sensitive to Nars dryness though (would never use their velvet matte lip pencils for example) but this one’s good.
I wore this out last night and felt great :).
