NARS 413 BLKR Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
NARS 413 BLKR Blush
NARS 413 BLKR Blush ($30.00 for 0.16 oz.) is described as “rosebud.” It’s a medium-dark, slightly muted, rosy pink with cool undertones and a matte finish. Milani Tea Rose (08) (LE, $7.99) is quite a bit lighter. Milani Bella Rosa (11) (P, $7.99) is a little brighter. Kevyn Aucoin Neolita (P, $37.00) is darker, warmer, more shimmery. Bobbi Brown Berry (LE, $26.00) is darker. NARS Mata Hari (P, $29.00) is lighter. MAC Mocha (P, $21.00) is slightly warmer. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
It was a richly pigmented blush that applied with true-to-pan color. Deeper skin tones will have no trouble getting this to show up on their skin tone, while fairer skin tones will have to use a lighter hand when building up the color, it doesn’t feel “too pigmented” where the merest brush of your bristles is product overload! The texture was soft, finely-milled, and silky against the skin, which made it easier to achieve smoother, even color during application. When I applied the blush, it was fairly easy to blend out the edges. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me, which is a bit longer than average.

I love it, it looks beautiful on you. I guess blushes are my weakness. Thanks for the review Christine.
My pleasure, Fabiola! Hope it helps!
Such a beautifully pigmented shade ! love wearing Matte shades !
Yay! What is your favorite formula for matte blush?
How does this compare to The Balm’s Toile?
Toile is warmer!
This is a beautiful color on you Christine! A bit too dark for my current routine though, I’ve been really into just highlighting lately.
Thanks, A! 🙂 What highlighters have you been trying?
Very fresh and pretty look Christine, very spring like x
Thanks, Kate!
This is a gorgeous color! I think it would be lovely on deeper complexions!
I heartily agree!
I think this blush looks super beautiful. I’m glad it’s in the permanent collection so I can take my time going to pick it up. Too many other things on my chic week list right now!
I can imagine your list is long!
Christine, do you know if, at some point, this will be available at Sephora? I’m not sure if Nars ships to Canada but also, having seen how some of your products have arrived in past (all smashed), I’d just love to be able to pick this up “in store”.
According to NARS, the 413 BLKR products seem to be exclusive to their website! I think they are also available at boutiques.
Note: the products I receive are coming from NARS’ corporate office via their PR department, so it’s not connected to how it is shipped if you were a customer of their e-commerce site (I think I have only ordered a handful of times from NARS’ website directly but don’t remember any issues). Sometimes products are loose (not in boxes), so they can knock against each other, which can sometimes cause damage.
I think this would work well on my NC40 complexion 🙂
Definitely would!
Pretty! It looks very close to MAC Mocha which I have in stash. I find darker shades like this look best on my NC20/25 skin if I apply just a hint over a bit of bronzer. If I go straight from pan, I tend to look contrived and doll-like or feverish. This would enrich darker skintones and be so stunning.
I’ll have to try that! Thanks for the tip, Wendy!
How true! I’ve been just fiddling around with some blush & bronzer shades I never thought would work for me, and alone they don’t, but for some reason they do together.
nodding in total agreement.. it really works!
Wendy, thanks for the tip! I’m even paler (about NC15), so I will try this. Usually I just try to mute blush with more powder, but that doesn’t always work so well!
Is this blush comparable to nars seduction blush….gorgeous color by the way and you look great !
Seduction is much, much warmer! 🙂 http://www.temptalia.com/submit-dupe?sbs=1&pid=111351&dupe=162532
That is soooo pretty – but I don’t need another blush. I feel like I already have something similar. Does anyone have Milani Mineral Blush in Mai Tai – I feel that they are similar – but Mai Tai is more red/coral – but similar enough. Sigh – at least it’s permanent.
I don’t have that, unfortunately!
That looks really red! I thought it would look more berry.
It seems to right in-between pink and berry!
I love the BLKR line (the lip colors especially are so cool). If I didn’t have Mata Hari, this would be screaming my name. Question, Christine, how different do you think they’ll wear on fairest porcelain with neutral undertones (from each other, I mean. Do you think they are different enough on skin to merit owning both)? This is so beautiful and I don’t want to miss out, but if it’s too similar to Mata Hari on I can safely pass.
(Note: Of course I’ll swatch it in person when I can, but oh the lust a beautiful NARS blush instills…)
I think they look more different applied than you’d think, only because Mata Hari is not just lighter but has a stronger blue undertone, so I think that the undertones make the difference in color more obvious!
Ooooh that’s so exciting to hear! That’s exactly what I was hoping for, actually. Now I can really envision the spot it would fill in my collection and cannot wait to play with it. So excited for my appointment with them in May :D! Thanks for the response, darling. <3 Beautiful job showing the collection so far.
Woohoo! Enjoy 🙂
I shall! I caved and bought it since I recently returned the LE Sex Fantasy. Just organized my blush drawer yesterday so I must reserve a spot in between Mata Hari and Deep Throat 😉
Haha! This spot reserved for 413 BLKR! ;D
I like the colour!
Yay!
It’s a pretty color and it looks good on you, but I don’t know that it would look very good on me!
I think this could look good on a lot of skin tones!
I think this will look much better on me than Couer Battant (did I even spell that right?) Definitely going to purchase!
This should be easier to wear for sure!
i am amazed .. how pretty it is looking on you dear 🙂
soooo gorgeous 😀 😀
loved the liner as well 🙂 but blush is stunning , 101 % getting this 😀
Thank you, Rashmi!
This color is sooo gorgeous on you! Don’t know how something so vivid would work on my NC15 skin though!
Light hand, feathery brush! I like MAC’s 131!
What a gorgeous shade! Looking forward to seeing it in person. 🙂
Hope you fall in love with it, Precious!
I really like this one! With my ruddiness it might not work but I might be willing to chance it!
Let me know how it works out for you, Erin!
Very lovely. 🙂 I’m glad they released shades that can be worn across the spectrum for the 413BLKR series – part of why I like NARS so much as a brand!
I like that they’re not all the same hue!
Gorgeous! This looks like a great shade for all-year!
Very true!
I think I’m going to skip this blush.
Fingers crossed the next blush that gets reviewed is more up your alley!
OMG! Do you think MAC prolongwear blush stubborn would be closer? I love that shade!
I think Stubborn might be a bit pinker, but definitely not totally different!
Looks fabulous on you! I thought this would be a fall/winter blush, but it seems to be an all year round type of color. I was wondering, how this would compare to NARS Dolce Vita blush?
Dolce Vita is warmer!
This berry colour is gorgeous – I loved it in the promo pic, and it looks just as lovely as I thought it would on you! 😀
Aww, thank you!
This is actually a really nice color for a nice rosy cheek. It seemed like it’d be tooo much but it’s so nice!;)
You can really apply it lightly!
Hi Cristine, I adore Nars blushes and already have quite a collection. Two of the ones I own are Amour and Outlaw. Would 413 blkr be too similar? What would be the differences? Thanks.
Also, wanted to thank you for your reviews as they have often helped me decide on my beauty purchases.
413 BLKR is a totally different finish from Outlaw, and then it is cooler-toned than both of those. I would say that, though they are different, they’re still in the same family, so you could definitely skip! 🙂
Happy to help!
Ahh, I love it!
Yay!
So pretty! I already have Mata Hari, it’s too similar to justify YET ANOTHER blush purchase 😛
Maybe next blush they release will be more different from things you already have 🙂
The blush is so beautiful and yes true to its color.. It looks flattering on you Christine.. 🙂
Thanks a lot, Poo! xo
Hi Christine
A perfect review as always ,I’m a nars freek is this a part of their permanent collection ?or is it for limited time only
Thank you xx
They didn’t tell me it was LE – online it just says exclusive!
wow 30 dollars now! i remember when the blushes were 24 dollars (rip)
Boo for inflation!
This is soo pretty! how does it compare to Nars Seduction?
NARS Seduction is a lot warmer!
I guess it would be pointless to get this if I already have NARS Mata Hari D:
I hope NARS releases more LE blushes in the future x_x
You could probably get away with owning both, but if you prefer to have the least overlap, skip!
Love this, might have to be my first NARS blusher! 🙂
Oooh! Keep me posted if you end up getting this as your first NARS blush!
Wow. I want that blush, now!!!
Glad you liked it! 🙂
Too dark for me, but looks lovely on you!
Thanks, Elana!
Do you think this blush would work on very pale, very yellow skin tones? I love these types of colors but I’m always worried about them turning orangey on my skin.
Yes, I definitely think it could!
Christine how similar is this to MAC Prom Princess & Hot Nights?
Prom Princess is cooler-toned, a bit more shimmery. Hot Nights is darker, more shimmery, cooler-toned.
Is this similar to the Archie Collection blush in Prom Princess?
Prom Princess is a lot cooler-toned! http://www.temptalia.com/submit-dupe?sbs=1&pid=162532&dupe=108882
