Champagne Supernova

NABLA Cosmetics Champagne Supernova Shine Theory Lip Gloss ($15.00 for 0.1 oz.) has a transparent base with flecks of copper, gold, and peach micro-sparkle with a high-shine, glossy finish. The consistency was more gel-like, so it felt plusher and thicker (but lightweight and non-sticky), though it wasn’t thick enough prevent some of the texture from the sparkles to come through when I pressed my lips together.

It wasn’t painful but for those who may be more sensitive to even the hint of texture from sparkle/glitter, it may be a miss. It was intended to have a transparent base, so the sheerness was as expected. It lasted well for three hours and felt moisturizing while worn.

Formula Overview

$15.00/0.1 oz. - $150.00 Per Ounce

The formula is described as "thin" and "ultra-mirrored" with a "non-sticky" feel. The brand called out a few shades as having a transparent base or sheer coverage, though not all, but this suggests that shades without a specific descriptor are more pigmented.

The gloss has a lightweight, smooth, and spreadable consistency that was non-sticky, comfortable to wear, and easy to work with. It had a more gel-like feel, so smoother and "thicker" but not heavy. The coverage ranged from shade to shade, but it was generally a more sheer to medium-coverage range from the shades I tried. They were moisturizing and lasted two to four hours on me.

They smelled beachy--like sweet coconut and a bit of sunscreen lotion--but didn't have a discernible taste, though the fragrance was very noticeable while worn.

District

NABLA Cosmetics District Shine Theory Lip Gloss ($15.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark peach with warm, yellow undertones and a cream finish. It had sheer to semi-sheer coverage, which was how it was intended, that did not sit well on my lips at all.

The product slithered into every horizontal and vertical lip line! The consistency was lightweight, smooth, and more gel-like without being tacky, so it was comfortable to wear even if it looking at made me flail in despair. It wore well for three hours and felt hydrating over time.

Renaissance

NABLA Cosmetics Renaissance Shine Theory Lip Gloss ($15.00 for 0.1 oz.) has a transparent base with finer, pink and gold pearl throughout paired with a glossy, high-shine finish. It delivered on its promise of mirror-like shine, and the brand helped me help all of us by actually describing this shade as “transparent,” so it was as sheer as anticipated. There was a noticeable amount of shimmer and very fine sparkle (no grittiness or sense of texture came through from the sparkles).

The consistency was lightweight and smooth with more of a gel-like feel, which gave it a plusher feel without the weight or tackiness often associated with thicker glosses. It stayed on well for three hours and felt moisturizing while worn.
