Milani Dolce Pink Baked Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
Milani Dolce Pink Blush
A Glowing Pink for Your Cheeks
Milani Dolce Pink Blush ($7.49 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium pink with gold shimmer. Tom Ford Frantic Pink has a similar look, but it is more matte. MAC Stunner is a bit cooler-toned and has less shimmer. MAC Mighty Aphrodite has a similar coloring to the underlying pink color but not the golden shimmer. NARS Outlaw is darker, more plum. NARS Orgasm is similar.
Milani’s Baked Blush is supposed to have a silky smooth application with a luminous finish. I think the formula is fairly comparable to MAC’s Mineralize Blush formula, so if you like that formula or you’ve always wanted to try it but haven’t wanted to pay MAC prices, you might try this range. Dolce Pink has a fair amount of gold shimmer, and it is soft and applies fairly smoothly. The shimmer does accentuate the size of pores a little bit (and I find this is true with MAC’s Mineralize range), but it gives a nice glow from the golden shimmer that looks more like a sheen when applied. Dolce Pink wore for six hours well, and after seven, there was some noticeable fading along the edges.

love love love milani’s baked blushes
would love to try this blusher out!
In the photos, it reminds me of NARS Angelika.
Loathe this blush… It has no color pay-off and is just all glitter. I have very light skin so it takes a seriously terrible formula to not show up on me. I guess the texture is okay but I’m generally not after the disco ball look.
Sorry to hear about that, Amanda! What a bummer!
I know, right? 🙁 But I have had great luck with other Milani products so maybe this was just a fluke!
It’s so frustrating when products are inconsistent! I was so pleasantly surprised by this shade. Have tried any of the others in the range or did this one turn you off entirely? Though these baked blushes (across all brands) tend to be more frosted, so it definitely has to be your thing, LOL!
It seems like it SHOULD be right up my alley… I live for shimmery pink blush. I just… need it to be pink and not just glitter. I haven’t tried any others yet because I’m afraid they’ll be the same way :/ I’ve heard Luminoso is very nice though.
I could see you liking Luminoso’s finish – it definitely has more of a shimmer-sheen kind of finish as opposed to noticeable shimmer. It’s even wayyy less shimmery-looking in the pan. I’ve only tried a few of them, but maybe if you look at Luminoso in the store and see a pink that looks similar (in terms of texture), that might work.
I agree with Christine. I do not like glitter at all, and researched these blushes quite a bit before purchasing Luminoso. It’s fantastic. Luminoso is wonderful alone but I often use it as a blush highlight, by layering it over matte blushes.
Luminoso is very nice, the shimmer is mostly sheen with a hint of sparkle, like Milani’s lightest baked bronzer is. So more glowy. And like Benefit’s Bella Bamba.
If you don’t mind the sparkle as long as the pigmentation’s there, Berry Amore in Milani Baked blush has great payoff with the sparkle. It leans a bit more coral though.
I love most all of the Milani products – they’re wonderfully pigmented in most cases, cost savvy, and fashion forward. The blushes do have some shimmer – but – I will use these on the apples of the cheek after a nice bronzer to pop the cheek – they’re also easily muted with a brush of loose powder on top – really great line.
pretty! how pigmented would you say this blush would be on tan/darker skintones?
It was very true-to-pan – I think on medium-dark to dark complexions, it will show up, but it will be brightening (since it is a lighter pink).
You just reminded me that I have three of these blushes from months and months ago somewhere around here that are just waiting to be photographed and tested. Whoops! 😛 This is pretty on you but I have no doubt in my mind that these will make my pores look CRAZY big!
Which three do you have? You’ll have to let us know if it emphasizes your pores!
Beautiful! There’s something about baked blushes that just look extra pretty. Unfortunately I do think this formula breaks me out (although fortunately for my wallet… because, in reality, the last thing I need is more blushes)
I think MAC’s mineralize formula caused some slight breakouts for me – little bumps along the cheek bones.
I have this blush in luminous I think its called and the regular Milan blush in luminoso they are very similar but the baked one is a little lighter. I find them similar to nars orgasm. I layer them and they give me a nice healthy glow
It’s a nice pink on you 🙂
I always though and hope that Dolce Pink was more of a glowy baby doll pink color. I guess not…oh well, still looks beautiful on you though Christine! 😀
Omg. Your skin always looks so natural & glowy! I can’t ever achieve that with my foundation, irregardless of how much I buff it out, it still looks like I have something on. Would you say that the effect is also possibly from the “Guerlain Les Voilettes Mineral Powder”?
It might be! 🙂
Boy, does the color look good on you!
What is your lip color? I love it on you!
Guerlain Paresse!
Hello Christine, sorry to bother you, but I have a question about blushes.I don´t own a blush at all, not one lol, but I plan on purchasing one, so I wanted to ask you, from the High end labels: Chanel, Guerlain, Dior, Givenchy, and maybe even Lancome, what blush formula do you love the most? For a soft, natural pink tone on the cheeks? I have pale skin for reference. I don´t own many makeup items, but the ones I have, maybe 20 lipsticks and one mascara, are high end (if you consider Mac high end lol). Few things, but ones I know I´m going to use up and love :d.Love drugstore when I see them but never buy them, because they just stay somewhere collecting dust :p though this blush looks gorgeous on you :d
Thank you for all the nice makeup you show us 🙂
I like Chanel and Guerlain over Dior and Givenchy generally… I haven’t tried Lancome’s in awhile, and I know they released a new variation recently.
I might go Chanel – they do soft and natural well!
Thank you Christine! 🙂
Estee Lauder has a new blush formula that is divine! Just thought Id give my 2 cents… ;c)
Thank you Stacey 🙂
Does anyone have any tips on repairing a broken baked blush without changing its integrity? I have one of the Milani ones, but broke it. 🙁
I just have to tell you that I love that no matter what product you’re wearing, whether it’s horribly unflattering or horribly pigmented or just horrible in general, you always have such a bright genuine smile on your face. I adore that and it makes me smile every time I see it.
PS. I mean this in a completely non stalker/creepy way, although it might not seem so. 🙂
Aw, thank you Natalie! I wore braces for about 10 years, so it’s hard to stop smiling, lol!
thanks for the review! can u please review milani bronzers? thanks!
This blush looks gorgeous! But the part about it emphasizing pores worries me. My pores are already big enough. -_-
You should review some make up from The Body Shop, I started working there in July and some of the stuff there is really good!
I like the color, but the sheen/shimmer/sparkle is a bit much for me. So, of course I’m tempted by the Tom Ford. *headdesk*
cute 😀
It looks very pretty but way too shimmery for me, I love subtle shimmer, this is too overwhelming.
This is such a beautiful color on you Christine! You look gorgeous!
