Milani Bella Ivory, Bella Sand, Bella Caffe Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadows Review, Photos, Swatches
Milani Bella Ivory (01) Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow
Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow ($3.99 for 0.05 oz.) is a new and permanent range of 30 shades. I saw 18 of the 30 shades at my local Walgreens (I bought those 18–more reviews to come!) earlier this week. The new formula is supposed to be crease-resistant, can be used wet or dry, and have “rich, vibrant color.” The texture is soft, a little powdery at times (depends on the shade), and tends to look similar whether applied dry or wet, though application with a dampened brush reduces the powderiness and sometimes brings out the shimmer in the finish. They were easy to apply and blend on the lid, and the wear was decent (six to eight hours), though the lighter shades tended to fade slightly faster compared to the richer, deeper shades in the range from what I’ve tested so far.
Milani Bella Ivory (01) Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow ($3.99 for 0.05 oz.) is a light, warm-toned white with a pearly sheen. It had good color payoff applied both wet and dry, though it was slightly more pigmented when applied damp. The texture was soft, blendable, but a little powdery. When worn, the color stayed put for seven hours before fading. Ulta Bone (P, $10.00) is less shimmery. MAC This or That #1 (LE, $21.00) is similar. Disney by Sephora A Wish (LE) is darker. Urban Decay Venus (P, $18.00) is similar. MAC Mylar (P, $15.00) is brighter. bareMinerals Silhouette (LE) is similar. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Milani Bella Sand (02) Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow ($3.99 for 0.05 oz.) is softened, gilded gold with a frosted, slightly metallic, finish. Applied dry, it had semi-opaque color payoff, and applied with a dampened brush, it was opaque and more metallic. The texture was soft, finely-milled, and blendable, while it was just a bit on the powdery side. The color wore well for seven and a half hours before fading. bareMinerals Golden Coast (LE) is less metallic. Makeup Geek Bleached Blonde (P, $5.99) is darker, less golden. Sleek MakeUP Meet in Madrid (LE, $9.99) is cooler-toned. MAC Her Cocoa #1 (LE, $15.00) is warmer. NARS Etrusque (LE, $24.00) is darker. Milani Drenched in Gold (P, $6.99) is lighter. bareMinerals Surreal (P) is a touch lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Milani Bella Cappuccino (03) Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow ($3.99 for 0.05 oz.) is a medium brown with warm undertones and a soft, gold satin shimmer. The powder was soft without being powdery, and it was easy to blend the color on the skin. It wore well for seven and a half hours before I saw signs of fading. Sleek MakeUP Entwined (P, $9.99) is darker. MAC Butterfudge (P, $15.00) is darker. MAC A Medley of Mauves #4 (P, $21.00) is darker. MAC Soba (P, $15.00) is similar. Burberry Pale Nude #1 (P) is darker. Bobbi Brown Praline (LE, $21.00) is darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Love the looks of these! My city is building it’s third Walgreens so it would be nice if the new one would carry Milani since the other two do not.
I hope it does!!
Bella Sand is extremely pretty and it’s only $4! I’m excited to see the other shades.
It is very pretty! A nice neutral, I’d say. I love how it’s gold but not super yellow or orange!
Considering the price, these look AMAZING. Sure, these lighter shades don’t wow me with their pigmentation but they don’t seem any worse than the new shadows from Nars which cost close to 10X as much! Can’t wait to see more of these!
Nope, they certainly aren’t! And at this price, it’s easier to overlook some of the negatives (especially wear, if one already owns a good primer). Some of the darker shades are better for sure (I haven’t finished testing them all yet, so we’ll see how it all shakes out).
Sand and Cappucino are gorgeous! I’ve never tried any Milani shadows before but I’m going to grab a couple soon. The formula sounds pretty nice
So far, it’s decent to good!
I like Bella Cappuccino. [sips coffee]
Already drank my coffee… sad face.
Milani? seriously… when i see the first pic, i thought is Dior/high end.
Until i see the brand name and the packaging…
That’s a good thing, right? 😀
Yes, two thumbs up! 😉
Dang Milain! A budget friendly Gelee formula. I pretty sure i wont see these in store up here in Canada but I want some of these shades. 😉
That was my first thought, since “gel powder” made it sound that way, but it doesn’t feel quite the same to me (will be curious if you end up trying any) as say Estee Lauder, MAC, NARS, etc. It’s almost not as thin/dry as Estee Lauder’s gelee (which is thin/dry but not in a bad way, lol).
A MAC Soba dupe for way less? Come to mama!
I’m looking forward to the rest of your reviews for this line. Milani has become such an amazing drugstore brand.
They really are!
Sand is lovely! I remain cautiously optimistic for the blues and purples (i have a total one track mind with new eyeshadow collections, LOL!)!
There were also some rather nice greens in that promo image, if I recall too!
We shall see, we shall see… fingers crossed they don’t disappoint!
Gorgeous swatches! I like the Bella Sand.
It’s a nice warm neutral!
What an interesting concept although I don’t think I’m that kind of gal! Too much multi-purpose, all-in-one type of products tend to be a huge turn off for me!
They’re easy to use wet or dry (whatever you prefer) 🙂
Very purdy but I’m disappointed that these don’t actually have a gel-ly/cushiony/spongy texture which is what I had imagined they’d have:( the colours do look lovely though and I’m waiting to see the violets and purples!!
Definitely a powder, but I think they tried to say that when they called it “Gel Powder” and not just gel! 🙂 More in the spirit of Estee Lauder Gelees, MAC Extra Dimension, etc.!
I really like expensive, sophisticated brands like Chanel, Tom Ford, Givenchy, Guerlain… But I get VERY EXCITED when I find cheap make up brands with a certain quality (because fancy chic make up have the obligation of being great). Thank you for picking these, Christine! I’m anxious with the second part of swatches (by the way, you should totally get all the colors of the matte lip cream by NYX).
Happy to share ’em, Mel! 🙂
These look great so far… I’ll probably buy in bulk lol!
LOL! At $3.99, it’s hard not to pick up more than a few shades!
I’m definitely going to try to find some of these and give them a shot (I wish Canadians had the same diverse selection that many people in the US do, but many beauty products are either unavailable or very hard to find). The colors look gorgeous, and there’s no way I can argue with the price point! For the price of one UD Naked palette up here, I could get 15 of these shadows. I am now officially on a mission to track these down!
They’re supposed to have 30, but I only saw 18 at my Walgreen’s. Wondering when the other 12 will make a debut!
OK, these have me kinda excited! I have ONE Milani blush that I absolutely adore and, of course, has since been discontinued but I’ve never tried their eyeshadows. These look promising; here’s to hoping some of the darker shades fare as well as the ones you’ve reviewed thus far.
Which blush is that, Dolce?
Milani Bella Cappuccino and Sand look stunning!
They do! 🙂
Yay! I’ve been looking for a decent formula nude without too much glitter for my sensitive eyes, and Cappuccino looks PERFECT for a poor college student!
Woohoo! Hope it works out for you, April!
Bella Ivory looks like a winner.
Yay!
I love the look of these! Cappuccino looks like a great shade for a 1-eyeshadow look.
I could totally see that!

I’m not sure! Have you tried Milani’s website?
