Melt Cosmetics Rust Collection Swatches
Melt Cosmetics Rust Collection is short ‘n’ sweet launch that includes an eyeshadow palette and gel liner. The eyeshadow palette is an extension of the original Rust stack (which included five shades), which was similar but a few shades had more pigmentation so they appeared a bit richer/deeper at times (and Rott is upgraded, and slightly different as a result, per the brand).
The collection launched on the brand’s website a week or so ago, and they’re temporarily shut down due to shelter-in-place orders in California. Sephora is supposed to get the collection, but I haven’t seen a specific date listed (Sephora has listed “coming soon” for awhile, prior to Melt Cosmetics’ temporary shutdown).

Your eye look is lovely and far more subdued than I have imagined for this palette.
Thanks for the swatches! It looks a bit like Biba. That breaks some of the mystique for me.
You made a beautiful look with this!
Thank you, Kira!
If your eye look and these swatches are to say anything, then this palette looks very solid! Unfortunately, this means that even though I have UD Naked Honey, I still want this. I can see the two palettes working beautifully and seamlessly together!
Nothing original, but very pretty.
I like a couple of these shades and they swatch nicely. I wouldn’t use enough of the shades to make it worth my while. I would buy Ravage as a single though!
Redox, Tarnish and Ravage are the shades that interest me the most. The rest don’t really suit, although the swatches look good. I love your eye look too Christine.
Yes, I have the original Rust Stack. Do I still want this and will buy it? Yes, please. I’m such a sucker for Melt – rare misses aside (the pinks, those glosses, and lipstick shades that won’t favor my coloring) and this is no different.
I use Rott every day and have yet to hit pan on it.
I love the Burnished eyeliner. The Rust Palette isn’t very rusty, is it?
I was tired and sounded kind of snarky here. I have since slept and watched Tarababyz video swatching and using this palette, and it’s really beautiful. The two mustard shades are actually gorgeous. This went from a “no” to a strong “maybe” with me.
Let me start out with Killer eye look Christine…Beautifully done!!! I don’t have the original but this palette looks and swatches beautifully!!! Just put away my palettes from moving and I have officially banned myself from purchasing anything else. My daughter is only 8 so she can’t even help me rotate through my massive collection.
Thank you, Shalonda! 🙂
Good luck on your no-buy!
It’s a lovely palette, but I still don’t think it offers anything I don’t have in my (relatively small) collection. Between Melt 27, ABH Jackie Aina, and ABH Subculture I have decently close dupes to all the shades. I’m still tempted by the gel liner, though!
As nice as it looks, especially with Erode to put in the “pop” of color, browns would almost never be a palette for me unless I replaced all the browns I have.
