Maybelline Nude Rebellion & Barely Pink Master Glaze Glisten Blush Sticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Maybelline Nude Rebellion (201) Master Glaze Glisten Blush Stick
For spring, Maybelline released two limited edition shades of Master Glaze in its Dare to Go Nude Collection. The Master Glaze formula is supposed to give cheeks a “dewy and gently glazed” look with “the sheerest color.” They have a slick, very emollient consistency, so they blend out really easily, even over foundation, without disturbing underlying base products. They never fully set or dry down, which leaves the finish looking noticeably luminous and dewy–for some, it might look “oily,” as it is a higher level of sheen. Wear time is short, though, and I don’t get much longer than six hours of wear before it looks faded and patchy.
Nude Rebellion (201) Master Glaze Glisten Blush Stick ($8.99 for 0.24. oz.) is peachy-bronze with a champagne sheen and metallic finish. This one is more metallic, and it did emphasize pores somewhat, depending on the angle and how the light hit the skin. It lasted six hours on my skin before looking patchy. It is rather sheer on cheeks, and even when built up, gives merely a slight warmth to the natural skin tone (fairer skin tones may see more color). Revlon Naughty Nude (006) (P, $9.99) is less metallic, darker. MAC Talk of the Town (LE, $25.00) is lighter. Laura Mercier Spellbound (LE, $42.00) is darker, warmer. Tom Ford Beauty Blush Guilt (LE, $58.00) is lighter. MAC Superb (LE, $30.00) is darker. See comparison swatches.
Barely Pink (202) Master Glaze Glisten Blush Stick ($8.99 for 0.24. oz.) is a light-medium, warm-toned pink with soft gold shimmer and a frosted finish. This shade was less metallic on, and it didn’t accentuate pores or skin imperfections, though it sadly only lasted for five and a half hours. Too Faced Peachy Keen (LE) has more of a golden sheen. MAC Rio (LE, $30.00) is lighter. Milani Dolce Pink (P, $7.99) has more golden shimmer. See comparison swatches.

They do look lovely on you, Christine. It’s a shame they don’t last longer.
Thank you, Rachel!
I find these finishes so interesting. I’m worried about the pores though. I’m a crater face so I’d have to prime the bejesus out of my face before sampling.
I don’t feel like I have huge, huge pores, but they aren’t small or tiny either. Nude Rebellion wasn’t kind to them, but Barely Pink was okay!
I’m really liking the look of these Glaze Blush Sticks! You look splendid! BTW what are you wearing on your lips?
Hi Lisha!

Hmm… I’m kinda torn. While I think they may make excellent highlighters, they do almost seem /too/ shiny, to the point of almost seeming oily.
Yes, I definitely think that they can be a product that looks too luminous for some!
I have ‘Just Pinched Pink’ and though it doesn’t last that long (it doesn’t even last 6 hours on me!), I still like it a lot. I think I will pick up the Barely Pink that really does look more peachy ‘coz I can use that shade. I prefer sheer, cream blushes so these are great for me
How long does it manage to last on you, Allison?
Maybe 4 hours, but I like it anyway!!!
When I saw these, I was immediately reminded of the NARS multiples! As a blush fiend, they look like something worth trying particularly since the price is quite decent compared to NARS’ but it’s too bad that the quality is somewhat lacking!
In theory, definitely, but in practice, they feel so different!
Eh, not into any of the colours!
I’m so not into the *wear*!
I have been really curious about these, but I haven’t tried one yet. They seem decent, so maybe I’ll pick one up the next time I’m in the drugstore.
Let me know if you end up trying one 🙂
Actually for the price those are quite nice. It wouldn’t really work on me to brighten since they are darker than my skin. I have the same problem with benefit watts up
They seem so tiny, even though by weight, they aren’t.
Omg I do love nude rebellion, maybe a translucent powder would set it and cut down the shine?
It could!
I’ve always thought drug store makeup needed some good highlighters. These look pretty good, but if they don’t last long it’s probably not worth it!
Only if you’re willing to reapply or if you end up setting with powder.
Eek, the finish is a bit scary… they’d definitely look oily on me, not good.
Aww!
these are lovely but I’m waaaaay more interested in the Snow Peach on your lips!! is there a review coming up? :0
Hopefully but I can’t guarantee when or if or anything of those things 🙂
Barely pink is pretty! I’m used to more matte blushes though, and ones that wear like iron on me, so I’m not sure I’d bother. However, I’m glad to see a review, as this is a product we might actually see here!
This is the exact opposite of the things you like, lol!
I love cream/stick highlighters, and these shades are gorgeous, but I simply can’t be bothered trying to track any of these down. I read elsewhere Barely pink is a “NARS Orgasm-esque” shade, and given the cost of these on eBay, I may as well pick up the NARS Multiple in Orgasm-I may actually *save* some money, too…
Orgasm is definitely going to be pinker with more obvious golden shimmer – if someone was really looking to dupe the color of Orgasm, they’d be better off trying one of the numerous dupes for the actual powder blush, IMO! 🙂
Like a Nars but worse multiple?
Can’t say I really love either!
I love the Master Glaze blushes. I put them on first and then a powder blush over that and it seems to lock the color in.
That’s great, Carrie!
Christine, do these have any noticeable odor/scent? I am trying to behave and cut way down on purchases. Had been eyeing the perm hot pink one (these are too warm for me), but don’t want to waste the money if they have an odor. Too many allergies!
As always, thank you for the reviews! 🙂 Snow Peach looks perfect on you!
I didn’t notice any scent!
These look like they emphasize pores :((
Nude Rebellion does!
I wish they lasted longer because they’re both beautiful!
Me too! 🙁
The blushes look pretty ok, but they’re not spectacular to me.
I was totally drawn to your lip color tho! You make Revlon’s Snow Peach look so good!
That’s one of the vintage lipsticks that came back, right?
I was tempted to get it, but I wasn’t so sure. The other ltd shades didn’t appeal to me either.
I hope you have a review for this lipstick though. ^-^
Yep, it’s one of the vintage shades they brought back!
Girl you are rocking that lipstick with the spark of envy eyeshadow! I love Snow Peach brought two tubes. Pretty highlighter but I own too many.
Thank you, Denise!
I like the look of these! But what a shame they dont last longer 🙁
They would be really great highlighters if they lasted longer!
i WANT the lipstick you are wearing BADLY
its painfully prettyyyyyyyyy 😛
pls give me details Christine! i tried googling it but cudnt find anything abt it! is it a permanent shade? is it out yet? can i pls have its full name.. i would be soooooo greatful!!
Hi Sidra!
It’s out here in the U.S., but it is LE! Part of Revlon’s Vintage collection. Snow Peach Super Lustrous lipstick.
I wonder if these are not going to ship Canada again. Maybelline has been cheating on LE products lately and giving us all the shades or products).
But I though the finish looked similar to a press mineral/mica products as I own MAC Superb and Dolce Pink. lol
Yeah, the finish is definitely similar to super metallic shades like Superb/Dolce Pink!
hi i loveeee ur liptstick

It’s available here in the U.S., but I don’t know about overseas!
