Maybelline Hot Sand, Purely Nude, Peach Buff Color Sensational Inti-Matte Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Hot Sand
Maybelline Hot Sand Color Sensational Inti-Matte Lip Color ($7.99 for 0.15 oz.) is a light-medium peach with warm, pale orange undertones and a satin finish. It had good pigmentation, but the consistency was chalk-like in that it appeared drier, almost crumbly on the lips and separated at my lip lines (like a matte, liquid lipstick might after drying down), despite the actual texture feeling very creamy with moderate slip. I think that if worn with a liner, it would look more flattering on. It lasted for three hours on me, but it had severely separated over time. The formula was lightly hydrating overall.
Maybelline’s Color Sensational line does have a sweet, perfume-y scent to them, though it did not seem quite as overwhelming in the Inti-Matte range compared to past launches to my nose.

Purely Nude
Maybelline Purely Nude Color Sensational Inti-Matte Lip Color ($7.99 for 0.15 oz.) is a muted, medium pinky beige with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. The coverage was nearly opaque, while the texture felt creamy, glided on and never tugged, but it had a drier, more grainular look on the lips (though it didn’t feel like actual grains on my lips). The color lasted for three hours with noticeable color that had settled into my lip lines after two hours of wear. I’d highly recommend using a lip primer or lip liner underneath this one.

Peach Buff
Maybelline Peach Buff Color Sensational Inti-Matte Lip Color ($7.99 for 0.15 oz.) is a soft, medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that went on fairly evnely, though I had a bit of patchiness along the outer edges of my lips. The lipstick had a lightly creamy texture that didn’t feel dry and glided on without tugging, but I felt like the end result looked a little dry and more prone to emphasizing the texture of my lips overall. It wore well for four hours and only had some color pull into lines over time (it was the best of the three in this review!).

I like a good nude or pale pink but these are all a bit TOO light for me.
These are definitely on the light end of the range!
Um. I guess zombie apocalypse lips are still with us, eh? Cannot wait for concealer lip trend to go on a permanent vacation….but I suppose that’s wishful thinking.
Anyway, these would look SCARY against my currently NC37 skin! Even that last one!
They could work on some skin tones! 🙂
I’m with you Nancy. I’m in need of a break from these beyond nude lips and from matte lips too.
I’ll be passing!
Maybe next batch!
I love Maybelline’s Sensational Colour Lipsticks – but not mattes and not nudes – they really don’t look natural at all. Sorry Maybelline.
I had higher hopes for these!
Sorry but these lipsticks are a huge miss for me. The colors aren’t flattering (look like concealer lips), the finish looks terrible ( chalky, dry, gritty looking), and add in perfume scent. Bleh 🙁
I wish they went on more smoothly/were more flattering in finish!
SAME, but PEACH BUFF is the only shade I would think of using but it look soo dry on the lips.
Goodness, those look awful. Christine perfectly described how they all looked to me — dry, chalky, grainy. Easy pass. Thanks to Christine for posting, I can easily bypass these now.
It is really odd how they don’t really feel bad going on, but they just did not look good on my lips.
Yuck!
I wish they were more flattering on!
I’d think that matte formula is hard to get right, so part of me wants to forgive these attempts by a drugstore brand considering some high end brands miss too.
But that’s academic. For me, mattes are not for me and I like a good nude lip but there’s a difference between nude and concealer.
It can be, though it is odd to have the creaminess that these do have and then look so dry!
No appeal, I’m afraid.
