Marc Jacobs Beauty Scandal (226) Le Marc Lip Creme
Marc Jacobs Beauty Scandal (226) Le Marc Lip Creme ($30.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as an “intense plum.” It’s a muted, medium-dark berry purple with warmer, pink undertones and fine violet shimmer. It had semi-opaque color payoff that crept into lip lines and tended to look a little patchy on. The consistency was thinner and had more slip than several other shades in the range. On me, it lasted for five hours and was neither drying nor hydrating. ColourPop Leather (P, $5.00) is lighter, cooler. MAC Instigator (P, $16.00) is darker, warmer. MAC Yung Rapunxel (LE, $16.00) is warmer, glossier. NARS Train Bleu (P, $25.00) is darker. MAC Smoked Purple (LE, $16.00) is darker, cooler. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Marc Jacobs Beauty Infamous (228) Le Marc Lip Creme ($30.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “soft peony.” It’s a muted, medium rosy pink with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. It had rich pigmentation that applied evenly and smoothly without dragging on the lips. The color lasted for five hours and was a little drying. Make Up For Ever #4 (P, $19.00) is warmer. Surratt Beauty Perfectionniste (P, $34.00) is lighter. Tom Ford Beauty Indian Rose (P, $50.00) is darker. Urban Decay Sheer Streak (P, $20.00) is lighter, warmer, glossier. Tom Ford Beauty Cary (LE, $32.00) is darker. Givenchy Brun Vintage (105) (P, $36.00) is cooler. Maybelline Touch of Spice (P, $7.99) is lighter, cooler. Clinique Plum Pop (P, $18.00) is darker, warmer. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Marc Jacobs Beauty Core Cora (234) Le Marc Lip Creme ($30.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “brilliant coral.” It’s a bright, medium coral with a hint of pink and a soft sheen. It had very nearly opaque pigmentation that covered the lips with smooth, even color. The texture was lightly creamy and didn’t tug when applied from the tube. On me, it lasted for six hours and was neither drying nor hydrating. MAC Toying Around (LE, $16.00) is lighter, brighter. Bite Beauty Crush (P, $28.00) is lighter, brighter. MAC Rozz (LE, $16.00) is darker. MAC Toxic Tale (LE, $16.00) is brighter. Hourglass Muse (P, $28.00) is darker, less glossy. NARS Kelly (P, $32.00) is lighter, cooler. Estee Lauder Fierce (P, $30.00) is darker, warmer. Clinique Poppy Pop (P, $18.00) is darker, warmer. Marc Jacobs Beauty Je t’aime (238) (P, $30.00) is darker, more muted. ColourPop Frenemie (LE, $5.00) is darker. Marc Jacobs Beauty So Sofia (236) (P, $30.00) is cooler. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Formula Summary: Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Creme ($30.00 for 0.12 oz.) claims 10-hour wear with “vivid pigment” and a “rich, velvety” texture that is “ultra-hydrating.” As you might expect, they don’t last ten hours; they last four to six hours with some leaving a stain. The texture is lightweight, creamy, and glides on without dragging or tugging on the lip, but it doesn’t have a lot of slip so it stays in place. The formula isn’t hydrating, and it can be drying, depending on the shade. The lipstick has a sweet, floral scent, but it is very subtle, even when smelled directly from the tube.

I like Infamous but have the MUFE dupe already. And Core Cora looks like summer on you! Not sure why they feel the need to claim 10 hours of wear – I mean this isn’t a magic marker!
lol! Yep, 10-hours is over the top!
Core Cora is beautiful! But I’m impartial to coral/peach/orange. 😉
It’s a pretty one!
Love Infamous! That is my kind of color. 🙂
YAY! 🙂
I love infamous on you Christine!
Thank you, Divya!
I actually like all of these shades. I wish Scandal performed better though. It seems to clump up a bit
Me too! It is a pretty color but doesn’t perform as well!
Infamous looks so good on you!
Thanks, Alice!
Good thing for dupes in many wonderful formulas! I hope your lips are alright! 🙂
Luckily for me, they only get drying after extended wear, so I can spread the testing out (which is why it has taken me awhile to get through them!).
I think I have all the dupes for Infamous…my bad? LOL
It is a superb color ;D
Beauty Infamous is right up my alley! Very cute shade.
It is pretty!
I actually really like the look of Scandal. I can’t get Marc Jacobs Beauty here so I’m looking at the dupes. Which one would you recommend for someone with really dry lips? I seem to wear nothing but tinted lip balm these days but I still love my lipstick. 🙂
To be honest, none of the dupes would be great for dry lips 🙁
Infamous is so pretty on you! Of course, I love Core Cora… I already have Bite Corvina and I didn’t see it on the dupes list so I don’t know if Core Cora is worth getting. Are they different enough?

I’m kind of surprised by your middling review of this formula! I LOVE this formula. I find it super comfortable to wear and very long-lasting.
Unfortunately, my experience is just the opposite of yours 🙁 I can’t wear the formula two days in a row or else my lips get really, really painfully dry. I wish these were as nice for me as you — everyone loves this formula but I have to be really careful and space out just the testing of these.
It’s always funny to me how two people can have completely opposite experiences with the same product/formula! 🙂
I have Infamous and wear it darned near every day because it is just the perfect near-neutral pop of color and it performs beautifully on me. I have dry, sensitive lips and can’t wear many brands (Nars makes my lips itch!) but after months of wearing Infamous, no issues. I do find that it lasts. I haven’t timed it (and I doubt anything would last 10 hours in my frequently sipping and snacking world) but it’s certainly one of the longest-lasting lipsticks in my collection which includes every high-end brand known to humankind, he-he. Just wanted to add in my experience. Everyone reacts to certain brands differently! Also, on me Givenchy Brun Vintage is quite different, not just cooler but way more brown (love both), and not as long lasting.
Happy to hear this one works so well for you, Ruby! 🙂
Infamous might have to go on the list as well, it looks like a perfect MLBB 🙂
Enjoy 🙂
Infamous and Core Cora are both quite gorgeous looking on and definitely my types of everyday shades, so yep, I own dupes. But, I am sooo sad for Scandal…thankfully there are some truly lovely dupes for it!
Yay for dupes 😀
Love these colors. Fortunately, I have dupes for all three.
Phew!
Infamous looks like my kind of pink–pretty but not super bright.
It’s a great neutral!
Where’s “The Makeup Look”? Would love to know the blush you’re wearing with Core Cora! 🙂
Sorry, I don’t remember! 🙁
I wanted Scandal to be better… 🙁
Me too!
The really unique colour is Scandal – so wine berry. I love it, but I am not sure I would wear it – and at C minus rating + $30. I don’t think so.
Just too emollient, I think 🙁
I’ve gotta go with everyone else and say that Infamous looks smashing on you and is probably the only one I would want to purchase. Unfortunately I’ve had very bad experiences with Marc’s lip products and it’s enough to make me pretty wary of purchasing anything else.
By the way, I don’t see how you kept from chopping off the tip of Infamous. Those four little air bubbles holes are driving me insane just looking at the picture. Maybe I’m just neurotic but holy snap that would absolutely kill me.
I don’t know if you could really see them at normal size, lol!
Infamous seems like a great, everyday – goes with most anything type of shade that would suit most cool to warm skin tones. I always find it harder than I would think to find that type of shade. Kind of like my beloved Rouge G Gemma without the shimmer. I like that it’s muted and very wearable. It looks so nice on you! Scandal’s color is really pretty, but a poor execution in the formula.
It is a really wearable shade!
I just wanted Beauty Scandal to be perfect, sadly it wasn’t so it will not come home with me. I did like all the lipsticks, actually and it they had had better grades I would have wanted to buy all three. I guess I can try to comfort myself looking at my already quite large collection and hope for better formulas next time 🙂
Me too 🙁
