Marc Jacobs Beauty Mocha Choco-lata & Uh-huh Honey Enamored Hydrating Lip Glosses Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Mocha Choco-lata
Marc Jacobs Beauty Mocha Choco-lata Enamored Hydrating Lip Gloss ($28.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a soft, pinky-coral with warm undertones and fine, pearly shimmer. It had sheer coverage that applied evenly, but there was some product in my lip lines. The texture was creamy, emollient, and balm-like, so it applied easily across my lips but felt like it was melting. I could see running through a tube of this formula quite quickly. This shade lasted for two and a half hours and was hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$29.00/0.074 oz. - $391.89 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "the shine of a gloss" with the "nourishing" prowess of a "tinted lip balm" paired with a "mint scent." They have a very soft, creamy texture that has a balm-lipstick feel to it but with a lot of slip, which makes them easy to over-apply as they skate across the lips like melting butter. The coverage ranged from sheer to semi-sheer with fairly even application, but sometimes product gathered in my lip lines. It had a glossy finish that helped minimize the appearance of the product settling in my lip lines from afar. They were hydrating and comfortable to wear, but they only lasted between two and four hours on me. They were mint scented but I didn't notice any taste.

Uh-huh Honey
Marc Jacobs Beauty Uh-huh Honey Enamored Hydrating Lip Gloss ($28.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a medium, bronzy brown with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had sheer coverage, as expected, but it did not apply as evenly as other shades, which was entirely unexpected as the texture had the same moderate slip, creaminess, and balm-like feel as the other shades I tried. It was comfortable to wear but just didn’t have the neatness in application. The color wore well for three hours and was moisturizing over time.

Ooh I love the sheer coverage of a gloss but the ease (and fun) of application from a lipstick. This is a perfect combo for me. Looking forward to trying one of these out at Sephora. My one concern would be how the rest settle in lip lines as you showed.
Just curious about the texture of the lipstick in the photos. Did you take the photo before you used them? The reason I ask is because Sephora only had a couple left and they both looked like they had been swiped across by someone, because new lipsticks usually have a smooth shiny surface. It has the same swiped look in your photo, so I’m wondering if they just come that way (which is kinda weird, I think) or if you had already used it. After Ulta came under fire recently for putting used makeup back out for sale, I make a habit of checking products before I buy them to make sure they’re untouched.
It was photographed before I used it.
Thanks, Christine! Now I might go buy one!
What an interesting looking gloss!
I fell hard for Mocha Choco-Latta. Until I saw. 07 of product and your notation about how you could see someone going through it very quickly, sorta changes my mind… I think.
Oops, I didn’t notice how little product is in the tube! That’s pretty much a deal-breaker for me…I think. 😉
Mocha was one of the few I didn’t swipe today but maybe I should have! I did pick up One Mauve Time and one of the new Lancôme L’Absolu Lacquers in Infra-Rose (306). I think my Cle de Peau gloss in Warm Crystal has similar vibes though; maybe even closer than some of the dupes listed. I also think my Sisley Phyto Lip Twist #1 Nude is very close too.
How do you like One Mauve Time? That’s the shade I’m considering.
These look really good and would be great for your lips in winter.
