The Baked Blusher formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” and have a “natural soft effect” with a “hint of shimmer.” It had semi-sheer color payoff that was buildable to semi-opaque coverage, but the texture was fairly smooth, lightly dusty as you might expect from a baked formula but still blendable. (Mine appears a little dustier than it actually is, due to it arriving broken.) It had much less sheen applied to the skin, and it’s hard to say why; I expected it to look near-metallic, but it was more natural and luminous once blended in. This shade wore well for six and a half hours before fading slightly. This would work better for someone who doesn’t want intense color payoff and isn’t overly concerned about longevity.
Oh, and they aren’t the sturdiest of blushes–one arrived from Ulta dislodged from the base (the other shades I ordered arrived fine).

Whaaaat! I didn’t know Makeup Revolution was sold at Ulta?!? How did I miss this?! haha.
Yes! I believe in the U.S., they are exclusive to Ulta.
yea..there are better quality budget brands out there…not a big fan of MUR :S
Oh, that’s too bad to hear!
I think it’s really pretty, but I’m guessing a metallic finish won’t be for everyone. I hate to see new, broken makeup. 🙁
Think of it as deconstructed makeup art, LOL!
Ha, ha! There you go!
OWCH!!! I’m trying to figure out what’s worse, it arriving broken or the low weartime? Either way, it does look to be a super pretty shade applied, but I would rather have a longer wearing, sturdier dupe.
If Ulta didn’t make you ship back the broken product and then have to wait 7-10 days to receive a new one, I would have returned it, but for me, probably not worth it since I’ll test it once, lol!
It’s rare, but I’ve had an eyeshadow arrive broken from Sephora – no big deal, I call, five minutes later there’s a new one on the way to me, and I *don’t* have to prove it broke.
If you live near one, you can return it to the store…at least I have, for an easy Sephora style refund. Sending back anything is the biggest pita. Got a wrong thing from Cafepress, and they told me to make a charity donation. Good idea. But doesn’t work for broken makeup. Paula’s Choice sends replacements without returns, too. What happens with an all online, like ColourPop?
Issues w/ MUR: color descriptions and, of course, Ulta photos were WAY OFF on the one product..blush..I got sight unseen. Now it came instore, very small selection, there are no testers, and the product is hella wrapped, so you can’t peek, much less swatch. Kind of left me cold.
It’ll really depends on the brand, I think, with respect to what the policy is – I do a ton of online shopping and Ulta is the only retailer in recent memory that has been annoying to deal with!
Christine, I have unfortunately had several items such as eyeshadow and a blush broken and damaged from Ulta. Each time I pointed out that they do not wrap these as well as they need to in bubble wrap. They have always replaced my product and have not asked me to ever send the damaged one back or submit a picture. This last time, the customer service representative stated that they were looking into how things are shipped as they have had many complaints from customers of poor packaging and broken items. I’d give them a call because the broken blush was the exact one that you got broken. Hope it works out ok for you.
Yeah, they’ve told me that every time I’ve called in the last few years, so I don’t know if they’re really doing anything about it, unfortunately! 🙁
I greatly dislike ordering from them for this reason. I had a good customer service agent help me considerably. but that was many moons ago, and I haven’t had the same experience again. And it’s a shame because I mostly buy online.
I totally agree, Melanie! I only order from Ulta if that’s the retailer that has it, but otherwise I’ll go somewhere else!
Whoa, the swatch is so shimmery, it’s bringing to mind disco ball! I need my sunglasses, the shine is hurting my eyes. Strange how it’s not as shimmery on the cheeks. Hmm, IDK, curious about the other shades
It’s very odd!
I love this photo ! Makes me want to reach out and touch that powder.
Haha!
Christine, I highly recommend trying this brand’s vivid baked highlighters (if, you know, you have the time). They have a Highlight Palette that contains all three highlights (Golden, Peach, and Pink Lights) and a Radiance Palette with highlight/”radiance” powders that is kind of a dupe for the original Hourglass Ambient Light palette. They’re also sold individually.
Thanks for the rec, Ginny!
I agree! I like the baked highlighter in Radiance Lights so much! It’s the most natural looking highlighter I ever tried, not yellow/pink/copper/white, makes me feel like a Korean Actress. It is kind of dusty but the pan is deep enough to hold everything inside. Also it’s not chalky on my dry skin.
It looks really pretty. Too bad it went wild in the pan.
The color is gorgeous for sure!
I have quite a few blushes from MUR, and I actually love them all. I have 2 blush palettes and 2 of the baked blushes like this one shown. They all last for quite a long time on me. Definitely worth the money, imo.
Oh, that’s great! 🙂
Oh my, pretty colour, but what a mess.
Luckily, most of it stayed in the pot!
A bit too shimmery I think.
Totally understand!
The (almost) monochromatic dusty rose/marsala look you have (except for the opposite cheek) is seriously nice for your skin tone!
Thank you, Jessica!
Awwww R.I.P, little blush.
Aw!
