Makeup Geek Romance Blush ($9.99 for 0.15 oz. pan; $12.99 for 0.15 oz. compact) is described as a “soft rose with gold shimmer.” It’s a gold-shimmered, coral-orange with warm undertones and a soft, frosted finish. Becca Lychee/Opal (P, $27.00) is a cream product. MAC Petal Power (LE, $25.00) is less shimmery, pinker. Tom Ford Beauty Love Lust (P, $55.00) is darker, pinker. NYX Menage a Trois (P, $15.00) is very similar. NARS Orgasm (P, $29.00) is pinker. MAC Stereo Rose (LE, $30.00) is less golden. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

In the pan, one might think it’s the brand’s version of NARS Orgasm, but this is much warmer, more orange-based than pink. The texture is soft and smooth, lightly buttery, and the higher shimmer level doesn’t emphasize pores. It gives the skin a glowing, luminous sheen while the color is even and easily blended on the skin. It had good pigmentation and was true-to-pan in color. Applied, the blush lasted well for eight and a half hours before I noticed it looking faded.

Of the three I got, this one impressed me the most with it’s quality. I’d been hoping it would be a dupe for Orgasm, but even though it isn’t really, it gives the most amazing glow on the cheeks when applied. Looks gorgeous on you too, Christine 🙂

Although I don’t own this particular color, I’m very impressed with the quality of Makeup Geek’s products! I own many powder shadows, a creme (potted) shadow, and several blushes, including First Love; happily, I found that one to be very saturated (though pale) and not too powdery at all.

holy crap this one looks so phenomenal on you. You can see really well in the photo how this melds with your skin, whereas the pinker cooler blush on your other cheek sits more on top. Not suggesting people can’t do both BTW, just noting how certain blushes can really vulcan meld with specific skintones and in this case..perfect for you! I picked this one up with my MUG order as well. It isn’t quite as pretty on me, running into orange territory, but not entirely hideous either due to shimmer 😉 A very wearable blush overall.

I don’t know if it’s the light in the photograph, but it seems you are wearing a different blush color in each cheek. Am I crazy?!

For these photos, yes, which is why I can only do a few at a time. If I do too many, the skin will start to peel/flake/burn for the next 3-4 days, so I have to be careful not to overdo it, otherwise the change in my skin’s texture makes it harder to test blushes for wear. When I test for wear, I don’t wear foundation. For photos, my natural skin is not aesthetically pleasing enough to get away with 24/7 bare faced on the interwebs, LOL!

Oh, got it! I always wonder how you manage to swatch soo many things at once. Specially nail polishes, it takes me an hour to paint my nails, and sometimes you post 5, 6 nail polish swatches in a row!

And your skin is lovely!

I put this on my wishlist when these blush swatches went up in the swatch gallery, then took it off, but I’ve just put it back on!! The more orange-y base looks makes its stand apart from the Orgasm dupes
(I own BareMinerals The Natural High).
