Makeup Geek Preppy Eyeshadow

Makeup Geek Preppy Eyeshadow ($5.99 for 0.064 oz.) is described as a “matte khaki brown.” It’s a medium-dark, caramel brown with warm, yellow undertones and a semi-matte finish (there’s the faintest sheen to it, but it is mostly matte). It had nice color payoff with a soft, smooth consistency that easily blended on the skin. This shade wore well for eight hours on me. Anastasia Bengal (LE) is brighter. Dior Cuir Cannage #3 (P) is darker. Makeup Geek Desert Sands (LE, $5.99) is lighter, warmer. Make Up For Ever S638 Mocha (P, $21.00) is slightly darker. Make Up For Ever M660 Speculous (P, $21.00) is warmer. Make Up For Ever M646 Latte (P, $21.00 is less yellow-toned. Make Up For Ever M636 Cappuccino (P, $21.00) is darker. LORAC Nude #4 (LE) is a touch darker. Urban Decay Tyranny (LE, $18.00) is more matte. Too Faced Chocolate Milk (LE, $16.00) is similar. NARS Madrague #2 (P, $24.00) is lighter. Burberry Pale Nude #1 (P, $29.00) is more shimmery. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Makeup Geek Pretentious Eyeshadow ($5.99 for 0.064 oz.) is described as a “metallic bronze.” It’s a golden bronze with a frosted sheen and warm undertones. It had intense color payoff with a soft, buttery consistency that applied evenly and blended well on the skin. This shade didn’t start to fade until after eight hours of wear. Tarte Bronze Cuff (LE) is less shimmery. Anastasia Gilded (LE) is less warm-toned. Cle de Peau Stellar Gaze #2 (P) is less golden. Anastasia Topaz (LE) is lighter. Makeup Geek Poker Face (P, $6.99) is very similar. Make Up For Ever ME644 Iced Brown (P, $21.00) is less golden. LORAC Nude #6 (LE) is similar. Dior Golden Flower #4 (LE) is similar. Too Faced Gangsta (LE, $16.00) is darker. Urban Decay Smog (P, $18.00) is darker. MAC Cognac (LE, $15.00) is similar. MAC Tempting (P, $15.00) is similar. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Makeup Geek Purely Naked Eyeshadow ($5.99 for 0.064 oz.) is described as a “shimmery tan.” It’s a medium brown with warm, yellow-ish tones and a soft, satin shimmer It was somewhat powdery, so the color payoff was decent but not true-to-pan. It lasted for seven and a half hours on me. Chanel Tisse Vendome #1 (P) is darker. Milani Bella Cappuccino (03) (P, $3.99) is similar. MAC Butterfudge (P, $15.00) is darker. Preppy is definitely a must have colour. Doesn’t look that appealing in the pan but amazing on the eyes (in the crease). πŸ™‚

This is amazing. I want the shade called Pretentious just so I can say I have a shade called Pretentious. I shall wear it with NYX Powder Blush in Bourgeois Pig– the perfect grad seminar look.

Despite being a dupable color, I quite love the finish of Pretentious. I think it is the same/equal finish of MUG Galaxy, which becomes one of my favorite gray eyeshadows.
About Preppy, I don’t have a caramel brown matte within my stash and I really need it. So glad that both had great quality, because I’ll get them !!!

Wow – Pretentions looks so much more golden in the swatch than in the pan! πŸ™‚ It looks nice either way, but it’s always interesting when that happens.

I’m liking the look of Preppy. I’m confused, though: Am I missing a photo? Someone mentioned above that Preppy looks amazing on the eyes, but I don’t see a photo of it on you, only pan and arm swatches. I think that’s enough for my purposes (I’m trying to compare it to a color in the Paula’s Choice matte eyeshadow kit — Tan), but it I feel like I’m missing something.
