Bite Beauty Fraise Matte Creme Lip Crayon

Bite Beauty Fraise Matte Creme Lip Crayon ($24.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “jewel red.” It’s a brightened, medium red with cool, blue undertones and a semi-matte finish. It was richly pigmented and yielded full coverage in a single stroke. The consistency is lightweight, a little creamy (but not wet or slick), and holds without feeling clingy. It lasted for six and a half hours on me and was lightly hydrating over time. Guerlain Rouge Parade (820) (LE, $51.00) is a smidgen darker. MAC Ruby (LE, $16.00) is glossier. Too Faced Melted Ruby (P, $21.00) is cooler-toned, glossier. Estee Lauder Vengeful Red (P, $30.00) is slightly cooler-toned. Tom Ford Beauty Vampire Kiss (LE, $50.00) is brighter. MAC Glam (DC, $16.00) is more matte, pinker. Urban Decay 69 (P, $22.00) is similar. Maybelline On Fire Red (P, $7.49) is glossier. Guerlain Greta (P, $51.00) is darker, glossier. Buxom Scoundrel (P, $21.00) is cooler-toned. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Bite Beauty Framboise Matte Creme Lip Crayon ($24.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “vibrant pink/purple.” It’s a brightened, fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a satin finish. It was intensely pigmented and easy to use with a lightweight, creamy consistency that applied evenly but didn’t slide around once applied. It wore well for six and a half hours. Lipstick Queen Play It (P, $50.00) is darker. MAC No Faux Pas (LE, $16.00) is more matte. MAC Catharina (P, $23.00) is darker. Illamasqua Glissade (P, $26.00) is glossier. Estee Lauder Dominant (P, $30.00) is glossier. MAC Good Taste (P, $22.00) is lighter. Charlotte Tilbury Velvet Underground (P, $32.00) is brighter. MAC Girl About Town (P, $16.00) is more matte, cooler-toned. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Bite Beauty Peche Matte Creme Lip Crayon ($24.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “warm peach.” It’s a medium coral-orange with warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had rich, opaque pigmentation that applied evenly with smooth, glide-on consistency. The color lasted for five and a half hours on me and was lightly hydrating. Gucci Beauty Fever (P, $39.00) is lighter. Tom Ford Beauty Twist of Fate (LE, $50.00) is more muted. Lipstick Queen Jungle Queen (P, $22.00) is slightly more orange. Estee Lauder Impassioned (P, $30.00) is darker. Bite Beauty Blood Orange (LE, $24.00) is brighter. Bite Beauty Cin Cin (P, $24.00) is glossier. Givenchy Mandarine Bolero (304) (P, $36.00) is darker, glossier. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Oh yay, Three of these I don’t want! lol.

I did get Aubergine from my Sephora order today though, yay! Amazing how it gives true opaque colour in one swipe! It looked a bit darker on me than it did on you, but it’s a beautiful medium-dark berry that I was missing! I feel so chic wearing it. Also, I applied it on my bare (dry) lips, and it came out completely matte, not with a bit of shine like all these seem to have. Hmm. Perhaps it’ll look different on my lips when they are not so dry?

Also, THE PACKAGING OF THIS. Bite makes the sleekest, most modern, coolest packaging ever. sooo in love. but when i twisted the entire stick of lipstick up, i did kind of cringe that i paid $15 for such a small amount of product.

/rave and rant over.

These swatches don’t seem accurate to me. Perhaps it’s the lighting? It makes your skin look lighter than its shade and turns the tone and finish. Whatever sells! 🙂

Christine Avatar

They are accurate as far as I can tell based on my monitor settings/calibration, and I regularly compare my photos to what it looks like on simultaneously (swatched on my arm while editing the photo on my computer). My lighting hasn’t changed. I don’t alter colors to “sell” product – that is dishonest and unethical. I do my best to I can to present products accurately. I’m not perfect, and I’m not the best photographer by any means, but I try my very best.

I’m With Foot In Mouth. I hadn’t noticed I was typing thoughts that didn’t coincide with what I wanted & meant to say! 🙁 I was mostly thinking that descriptions with bite are inconsistent, in my experience, and I’ve seen so much smudging that these pictures were so good that I was actually making a joke because they turned out well here! Please forgive me! I understand, believe and respect whst you do & I fo not doubt it gor a minute! My surprise came across WRONG. Upon reading your response I was curious why you’d say what you did, so I looked at whst I typed and it came back to me.. I really must be careful expressing exactly my intention. Thank you for that reminder.

Do you prefer these over the smeary lipsticks? I dig cognac but I just don’t know due to my experience with inconsistency.. Sometimes I think it’s just Sephora’s problem. I’m Eager to hear your opinion! 😀

Hey Lotus!

Thank you for clarifying 🙂 I do appreciate it! It can be easy to misunderstand with just text!

I prefer creamier lipsticks, so I probably would reach for their Luminous Cremes over one of these, but these are nice for longer-lasting color! I have no idea if brand’s submit descriptions or if Sephora’s e-comm team creates descriptions. I’m sure it’s a mix!
