Makeup Geek First Love Blush ($9.99 for 0.15 oz. pan; $12.99 for 0.15 oz. compact) is described as a “soft pale ballerina pink.” It’s a light, cool-toned pink with a soft shimmer. Surratt Beauty Guimauve (P, $32.00) is darker, more shimmery. Dior Rose (001) (LE, $56.00) is darker, warmer. Hourglass Ethereal Glow (P, $35.00) is similar in color but applies with more translucency. NARS Sex Fantasy (LE, $29.00) is brighter, darker, more matte. NARS Mistinguette (LE, $29.00) is darker, brighter. MAC Unconventional (LE, $21.00) is cooler-toned, more lavender. MAC Pink Buttercream (LE, $30.00) is more shimmery. MAC Lazy Sunday (LE, $20.00) is a cream product. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

It had good color payoff, and the texture was very soft, finely-milled, and smooth, though this shade was just slightly powdery. It had a soft sheen when applied and blended on the skin that became more and more luminous the more it was worked into the skin, but it never emphasized pores. I can see this particular shade flattering very fair, cooler-toned skin, whereas on my medium complexion, it might work if used lightly and paired with really dark, smoky eyes. It can also be dusted on as more of a light highlighter without lightening the skin too much. On me, this blush lasted for eight hours before starting to fade.

I managed to get my haul in this morning. I tried late last night, but traffic kept tossing me off website and crashing my order.. I’m so happy the blushes were still available when I got up this morning. Yay! (forgive my giddy excitement). Anyhow, one of my picks is shade Romance which I will use as a highlighting/layering blush instead. It’s a shimmery golden concoction that will look amazeballs on top of the other shades. I think it could be lovely with deep skintones as well.

This reminds me of Illamasqua Katie. (It’s my most natural looking blush.) Very pleased to see this collection has a shade that will work for my skin after it’s been such a pain in the butt finding these types of colors! Kudos MUG!
