Make Up For Ever Rosewood & Cold Pink Artist Liquid Matte Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Rosewood (105)
Make Up For Ever Rosewood (105) Artist Liquid Matte ($20.00 for 0.08 fl. oz.) is a muted, medium-dark mauve with neutral-to-warm undertones and a matte finish. It had good color coverage that applied evenly and smoothly on the lips. The liquid lipstick felt thin without being watery, so it spread easily across the lips but did not appear streaky. The color stayed on nicely for six and a half hours, and the formula was mostly non-drying.
The Artist Liquid Matte formula is supposed to have “intense color” with an “ultra-matte finish” that is “long-lasting” and leaves lips feeling “soft, nourished.” In general, the formula is quite pigmented with a smooth, thin texture that still had substance to it (but felt looser, like it was almost too easily spread across the lips) as it covered the lips well and didn’t streak. The dry down time was average, and I felt like I could maneuver and perfect the edges without fear of it drying down on me. The formula dried down to a flat, matte finish that didn’t transfer and did not appear “cracked.” The wear varied from five to eight hours on me, and the formula felt slightly drying to non-drying. There was a heavy, floral scent, though–more detectable than the one in their regular lipstick range. While the tube did not seem unusually small, thin, or short, it contained a lot less product than is standard for liquid lipsticks.

Cold Pink (203)
Make Up For Ever Cold Pink (203) Artist Liquid Matte ($20.00 for 0.08 fl. oz.) is a medium-dark pink with cool undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque color payoff that went on fairly well, though there were a few streaks even after the liquid lipstick dried down. The texture was lightweight, thin but not watery, and spread easily (almost too easily!) across the lips. This shade lasted for seven hours on me before fading, and it was neither drying nor hydrating over time.

I’m glad I’m not falling in love with any of the colors so far, since the strong fragrance and the finish really are not for me!
I’m so bummed about how much fragrance is in them!
That Rosewood colour is so gorgeous! I love how MUFE does their lip formula’s – they are so comfortable!
I wish they had more shades!
Rosewood is my pick between the two.
Nice choice!
Rosewood looks very nice!
It does!
is very Rosewoodpretty. I’m glad to see such good rating on these.
Rosewood is lovely!
Rosewood is lovely! Like a lighter, less stark version of KVD Sanctuary. I’ve got some happy news about that: Sanctuary did NOT bother my lips yesterday! So I will likely get it or Bite Thistle.
YAY! I’m so glad Sanctuary worked!
Not sure if I can pull these off, but the colors are pretty!
They are!
I’m interested in this formula! I liked the praline shade from the other day the best though!! I love my dark warm browny pinks so much!
Here’s hoping the formula works for you, Shannon!
Both of these are very pretty. It sounds like they are fairly comfortable to wear which is my biggest concern with liquid lipsticks. Some are just so drying.
They aren’t too drying!
