Make Up For Ever Folk Rouge Artist Natural Lipstick
Make Up For Ever Folk Rouge Artist Natural Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as an “iridescent red coral.” It’s a soft, semi-opaque coral-red with a natural sheen. Â There is a very subtle iridescence. Â Â Guerlain Nahema is similar but more opaque and has gold shimmer. Guerlain Chamade is darker, redder, and more opaque. Make Up For Ever #4 is pinker, rosier. Chanel Coquette is similar, perhaps a little lighter. NARS Niagara is pinker. MAC Crosswires is more orange. Laura Mercier Tangerine is less pink.
It’s a new, limited edition shade in a new, coming-soon formula. Make Up For Ever has taken their Rouge Artist formula but given it a softer, sheerer color and finish.  Folk wore for three and a half hours, which is just a little below average (four hours).  It has a lighter texture compared to Rouge Artist, and it seems a slightly more hydrating, though I wouldn’t describe it as a moisturizing lipstick.  It has a slicker consistency that gives it a bit more glide across the lips thank Rouge Artist, which has a creamier texture.  I think it’s great the the brand is branching out with the formula and going for something that still has color but isn’t as creamy or as dense as their Rouge Artist range.

Great shade. It reminds me of my Paul & Joe “Red Tomato” lipstick. Both in color and finish. I love it as an every day coral.
Nahema was on my wishlist, but now I can’t decide whether I’d rather get Nahema or Folk. Time to go play at Sephora and swatch things!
I’ve bought this lipstick today, I love it! great color and formula
Wish MUFE was more widely available in the UK. This is lovely.
I wasn’t expecting to like this, but it looks like a nice summer shade. Not sure how it would look on me though…I wonder if Sephora will carry this in stores.
Amazing finish and great everyday color! Added to wish list!
I have ordered this lipstick, and should receive it any day now. It looks lovely!
This is a gorgeous color on you, Christine! Thank you for MUFE reviews. Sephora was out of a shade that I was wanting so I called MUFE’s New York store. They were SO friendly that I now order from them directly. I was pleasantly surprised by how outstanding their customer service is and wish that more makeup brands would take note!
Love the shade, actually, it looks very natural.
Such a pretty, natural color!
Swoon! It’s love!
Lovely evergreen shade for spring!! Looks quite similar to MAC See Sheer though.
Hmm…the swatch gives me the impression that this is a bit slippy. If I were to go for this color, I might spring for the Nahema. Not a huge coral lover, though!
This reminds me a little of the Burberry Devon Sunset lipstick you reviewed 🙂 I might actually pick this one up to give the color a try..before totally splurging on a Burberry 🙂
Can dry lips survive wearing this formula?
Cracked dry, no. Lips that get dry, probably.
looks pretty ok, i’d say
I have Folk and Nahema and on me Nahema is so much brighter. If you like corals I would buy both.
Looks a lot better on the lips than in the tube!!
