It had good color payoff, but it was a little more challenging to apply as opaque on the lid as it appeared in the swatch. I had the best results when applying it with a flat, synthetic brush. It started to crease after eight and a half hours of wear. Makeup Geek Shore Thing (P, $5.99) is less shimmery, lighter. Make Up For Ever S208 Baby Blue Artist Shadow ($19.00 for 0.08 oz.) is light-medium, brightened sky blue with a soft, pearly shimmer. It had good pigmentation, but like S314, it was a challenge to apply and blend–it had an uneven, almost dry look on the skin that seemed to emphasize the skin’s natural texture. While it lasted for eight hours before fading, it never looked good. Urban Decay Peace (P, $18.00) is more shimmery, darker. Giorgio Armani Swimming Pool Turquoise (LE, ) is darker, more muted. It had mostly opaque color payoff with a soft, lightly creamy consistency that adhered well to the skin and showed signs of fading after eight and a half hours of wear. NARS Mad Mad World #2 (P, $24.00) is darker. MAC Kelly (P, $16.00) is less shimmery, warmer. Makeup Geek Shore Thing (P, $5.99) is darker. YSL Misty Green (09) (P, $30.00) is less shimmery, lighter. Christine those eye looks are beautiful!! I especially love the greens!
Aw, thank you Indya!
Hi Christine,
I can’t seem to find Make Up For Ever S208 Baby Blue anywhere on this planet. Has MUFE stopped making it?
It’s possible! I didn’t check (totally blanked), but I know they discontinued a few and they all seemed to be the pastel variety… something about them fading on Sephora displays?
Sonia, if you type it in by the number code, it should show up! Sometimes there are gaps at sephora.. I don’t know why.. But then I’ve gone back, and ithe gaps are filled.. I hope you find it! It looks so beautiful!
Thank you Lotus!
These eye looks are soo gorgeous.
Thanks, Alicia!
Oh wow, just LOOK at Acidic Green! It’s like an even prettier version of MAC Lucky Green! <3
Totally! So bright!
PASTELS! \o/
I wear them all year, I DONT CARE
No shame in that game ;D
Oh my! I just got the Hello Kitty Mon Amour shadow palette, and it included some pastel shadows which are horrible of course (dry, sheer, chalky, no pigment) but after using some primer and NYX Milk pencil, they showed up on my lids, still not great, but at least it works. I bought it only because I’m a big Hello Kitty fan, it’s so ridiculously cute, and Ebates was offering 16% cash back. But if you’re a lover of pastel shadows, these MUFE ones are worth investing in, because it’s so hard to find decent pastels. I swatched Blue Artist in store and was kind of heartbroken because it’s so stunning in the pan, got Petrol Blue instead
It is so hard to find good pastels!
That pink eye look alone makes me want to buy the shadows!
Would you say S312 Mint Green could be a (matte) dupe for Urban Decay’s old Absinthe shade? I saw a swatch of it once and I’ve been longing to get my hands on a similar color ever since, haha.
I think S312 is a good deal lighter 🙁 Have you tried Sugarpill Tipsy?
I haven’t, but I’ll definitely check it out! Thanks for the tip 😉
I am so envious! I want all of these! I actually think I want all of the shadows in the line! lol! I need to get back on task with buying these. I started getting palettes again because I just have trouble putting the colors together. This reminds me a lot of the Too Faced Sugar Pop or the Lorac Dream girl Palette. But, with my most loved shadow formula. I would so love to see you dupe out the UD Smokey palette with MUFE artist shadows. I know it’s a big task and it is a no go, I understand completely. I also know it would probably be 5x the cost. But, I would rather take a few months to get a quality palette which I will adore than one I have to struggle with. 🙂 PS- gorgeous looks!

Ah! Look at you! I love you! I’d give you a big hug and smooch on the cheek right now if I could!
Are you serious? I would not have even been brave enough to ask you to do this! Thank you!!!
No problem!
Quick question: I went back to the Naked Smoky Palette and I couldn’t fine these MUFE shadows listed as dupes. Are these MUFE dupes for a different smoky palette or are these for the Naked Smoky Palette for summer of 2015?
Hi Tammy,
Nicole was asking for MUFE shades, so I listed the closest shades to get the palette, but they are not going to be exact dupes 🙂 Several of the ones are listed in the review post, and there may be a few you won’t see listed out specifically – you’d have to click on the links for dupes as only the first 15 dupes are written out in full.
So many pretty colours.
Right?!
That yellow and green eye at the end is to die for! I’m glad there has been a little bit of a lull in the LEs so you could post a few more of these! This really is my favorite line of eye shadows on the market right now!
Mine too!
Oh, SO PRETTY! Christine! Your eyes look SO beautiful! This post is just insane! I am in love with these colors! Admiring from afar.. Ugh, but those looks! Now that’s a good formula that seems to love your eyes! Wowowowow.. STUNNING!! I bet you had fun! Congrats on nabbing the MUFE storage! That will be a fun project! If love to see the result! 😀
Thanks, Lotus! I posted on Instagram.
10-15 min.. You ACE it! And now you’re almost selling me to join Instagram! My my.. And to think long ago.. This blog was just a thought of yours.. Congratulations! You are very loved & well respected. I’m happy for you! 🙂
Instagram is fun to browse on the go 🙂
Christine, I like your new organization of putting the eye looks right after the swatches of the eyeshadows you used. Thanks!
Great!
Not my colors at all, but those greens look so beautiful on you.
Thank you!
I must say that I eye these with drool but I recently rediscovered my MAC eyeshadow and I’ve been playing with great success! Finally! Omg those eyes.. Had to say it again. About how long does it take you? Blown away!
10-15 minutes
Love love love: the looks, the quality, want ’em all, but I think I’ll do the artist palettes first. First rate looks as usual, C.
Thank you, KJH!
These look like the nicest pastels you have reviewed lately! Pastels aren’t my personal cup of tea, but they look like overall good quality.
They are some of the better ones!
For me the last look was like your signature look when I first started reading your blog (years ago). Glad to see it’s back!
It never went away 🙂
I’m drooling so hard over these. I should save up and make myself a little palette and never buy makeup again!
lol!
You created some gorgeous looks, Christine!
Thanks, Kelly!
I wanted abyssal blue to perform better 🙁
Aww!
You’ve created such beautiful fresh looks! I really need to pick up some of these shades.
Thanks, Valerie!
That green and yellow eye look is AMAZING! The only one I have out of these is Abyssal blue. I love all the bright pastels you chose, and that acid green is to die for. Again, I’d take these all together in a “Candy” palette. (MUFE, are you listening? Let Christine put together your future palettes! ; ) )
Candy palette, that would be cute!
Yes, if anyone can get a candy palette right, it would be MUFE and Temptalia!
Very bright, pretty, neon colours for summer. And your eye looks with these are amazing.
Thanks, Genevieve!
I love ME 338, I actually just bought it. Sucha happy colour!
I really like the pinks in this post, and the yellow one is also so pretty.
Love the looks!
Thanks, Helene 😀
These eye looks are phenomenal, Christine! I especially love the pinky-purple one and the green look just blows my socks off! And I don’t even have socks on either, because well, it’s June and I’m stuck in Phoenix….
Thank you, Nancy!
Christine, I won’t be the first person here who said it but the look you did with the greens not only looks phenomenal but is absolutely gorgeous on you. It is by far my favorite eye look I have seen on you. Ultra Flattering.
Thanks so much, Crystal!
Christine, for S314 you recommended a flat synthetic brush. Is that true of all of the finishes? Would a different brush work best for different finishes? I’m asking because I have a lot of these shadows and while they swatch nicely with my finger, I can’t get my brushes (even MAC) to pick them up! I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but I do know that I am not the only person to complain of this. I thought they would perform well with any type of brush, be it the materials it is made with or the shape of the brush. I am sad over this because they are beautiful and I very much want to use them, but I can’t seem to get the pigment onto the brush! Any thoughts on what I might be doing incorrectly? What brushes are you using with your looks? Any help would be appreciated!
Hey Krista!
I use MAC’s 239 for most of MUFE’s eyeshadows – there are only a few that are more troublesome as they are more densely packed into the pan!
Thanks Christine. That’s the brush I primarily use as well, so I’m not sure why it’s not picking up color. 🙁 Should I dab, swipe, stab, tap or what onto the eyeshadow with the brush? I’ve never had trouble getting eyeshadow onto a brush before. Usually I just touch my brush onto an eyeshadow and tap off any excess. I can’t seem to do that with these eyeshadows.
I haven’t had issues with most of them with my regular routine, BUT a reader did mention she had troubles until she started to push at the eyeshadow, rather than pull it towards her? or something like that. After she noted that, I noticed that I tend to go back and forth and do more of a patting motion.
Thanks, I will give that a try.
