MAC Orb roughly 85-90% of the time. I love it because it’s NOT shimmery, but not flat matte either. Because my lids are hooded I don’t do shimmer on my browbone. The other one I love is that ethereal highlight in my Lorac Unzipped palette, usually with darker, smokier looks.

I’m into Nyx’s single called “I have a headache” as a highlight at the moment. I use it on my inner corner a lot too, it’s a pale yellowy cream and I feel like it really cancels out any redness or darkness I might have going on in those areas.

Bobbi Brown Banana looks best on my brow bone. It’s matte and not too white or yellow. But I try to make use of whatever highlight is in the palette that I’m using . I wish I could swatch Burberry Trench they aren’t available close to me.

Addictive from Suriname? and it took me a bit to figure that out. Somehow, if the product only delivers there, i doubt many of us will get some! You must have it in Holland/Netherlands… Neat website.

I’m new to Detrivore, but I really love Embalm as a highlight. I prefer a matte finish and Embalm is a sheer whitened peach that is just stupendous.

Ryou Avatar

I do own Embalm and I quite like it, but it’s limited edition so I kind of hoard it. Ossuary is quite similar to Embalm, just with cooler undertone and available permanently. It works okay on my NC25 skin, thankfully.

A lot of times I use what’s on my face. NARS albatross, Mary Lou Manizer, Hourglass powder, etc.

I also love MAC Shroom and blanc type.

My favorite brow highlighter is Hard Candy’s Brows Now!, which is a brow gel with tiny fibers on one end and a highlight on the other. I’m not a big fan of brow gels in general because my brows are already quite long, just sparse, and I need more of a precise filling in, rather than a brow mascara-type product. However, the highlight is a champagne, satin finish, in stick form. It’s so easy to use and provides the perfect highlight that shows up, but without being overly glittery.

I’m not one for shimmery brow bone colours anymore. I used to use MAC Vanilla pigment. Now I use MAC Vanilla eyeshadow, which has flecks of shimmer but they don’t show up once applied. Any light pale nude satin eyeshadow will do. I also like to use Shiseido Satin Face Color in white as a highlight on my face and my brow bone. 🙂

What’s sad is that as soon as I saw the question I said to myself, “She uses Burberry Trench powder eyeshadow!”

I think I might spend too much time on your blog . . .

Oddly enough, it’s a bronzer! Bare minerals The Skinny Dip.
I’m dark/warm complexion and bronzers in sample packs and those favorite kits never work for me as “bronzers”. I tried this as an eyeshadow and it’s been my go to brow bone highlight. Favorite by far. Not too light, not too matte and not too shimmery, just a little sheen. I will repurchase after my sample is gone.

Wet n Wild Brule or Tarte Bianca’s Colouring book (the Tarte of Giving). In the winter it’s Yaby Blanc.

Side note Christine: I had bought a few things from Yves Rocher and you asked for rec’s – I now have to add the Velvety Cleansing Milk and the Riche Creme Regenerating Balm Intense Nutrition. I purchases the full size cleansing milk and have been using it for a few weeks – that stuff is GREAT! No breakouts, not drying at all, removes eye makeup! I took some Bioderma after I used the cleanser, to see if any residue was left and nothing 🙂 Love it.

The Regenerating Balm, I had a sample that gave me two days ( i know that’s not long but..) after the two uses I noticed less of a dehydrated look to my cheeks and a little more plumpness and radiance overall. It’s a bit pricey (62 CDN regular) so I’ll wait till they have another sale and pick it up. It is a bit rich but sometimes that’s a good thing 🙂

Mostly, I don’t. If I do, I will use a shade that is matte and not too bright-close to my skin tone, but meshes with the shadow look. I had a surgery a couple of years ( for my medical condition) that went awry ago and after all the infection and messes were done, I wound up with my left eye brow being slightly higher than the right. I can correct it some with brow products. But, I just don’t need to add shimmer there and draw attention.

Like some of your other readers, I usually use the highlighter in whatever quad I’m wearing. If I’m using a palette that doesn’t have a highlighter or if I’m doing a lot of mix and match, then I use the same product on my browbones that I used to highlight my cheekbones which is usually a Clé de Peau luminizing powder or something by Chanel.

Blue Avatar

I’m actually rarely doing a brow bone highlight, it feels more on trend to skip it entirely. I feel like the whole eye looks less “done” in an appealing, relaxed way without it, provided it works with the rest of the look and everything else on the lid is well blended without it. Inner corner highlight on the other hand is either UD Virgin from Naked I or UD Cuff pencil (light silver).

MAC White Frost. 😀 Or is it Frost White? I use that over the more subdued highlight in the LG Wtgereal rose blush & highlight, highlight choice.

tini Avatar

I absolutely love WnW “Brulée” eye shadow for a matte highlight! If I want something more in your face I go ahead and use Mac’s Vanilla Pigment, one of my ALL TIME favourites!

Tova J Avatar

I rarely highlight my brow bone except with concealer. But when I do, I use Too Faced White Chocolate from the Chocolate bar palette, which is matte and very close to my skin tone!

Campos Avatar

Most definitely the lightest shade from Guerlain’s Boulevard du montparnasse. I already finished half of it! Love it, love it, love it! Have been obsessed with the lightest peachy shade from Dior’s Tutu palette as well. 🙂

txabela Avatar

Mary Louminizer by The Balm or a crayon by Chella in Ivory Lace. I am very tempted to try Becca though.. This summer everybody seems to be talking about Becca highlighter glows etc..

Trish Avatar

I’m a diehard Burberry Trench fan too! Plus I’ll use just about any of their lightest shades from any of their pallets ( I kinda have a lot of ’em :0 can we say employee discount helps). I have a lot of space to cover from my lids to my brows so nothing sparkly or shimmering for me. I’m about to dive head first into those Color Pop ones tho- kinda want them ALL! Your fault Christine.

Cotty Avatar

I have several go to shades. Becca’s Moonstone, #101 Bone by Kevin Aucoin, Tako from Sugar Pill, High Tide from ColourPop and when I want something with a bit of color I use the highlight shades from KVD’s butterfly palettes. I like options lol

Kai Avatar

Lately ive been using concealer from doing my eyebrows, but if I’m doin a colorful look, MAC ricepaper. Brown neutral smokey eye MAC honey lust, and smokey eye with pink pops I’ll use MAC jest or Victoria Secret flower girl.

Mimi Avatar

I love Laura Mercier’s “Buttercream”. It is matte but silky & almost a creamy feeling powder that is not drying or irritating to my eyes-of-a-certain-age. Check it out.

Olivia Avatar

I use my Too Faced Chocolate bar every time I do my makeup (with another palette/single shadow(s) thrown in the mix), I use White Chocolate all over my eye to set my base. Sometimes I’ll just leave that as my brow highlight, other times it might be Champagne Truffle from the Chocolate Bar palette. Other than those two I pretty much just use whatever highlighter I’m using on my face….which usually tends to be MaryLou minizer by TheBalm

Rachel R. Avatar

I don’t have one. If I’m using a palette, I’ll usually go with the lightest shade in it, and I’ll use any color if it’s light enough. If I’m using blues, the super-light frosty blue is my highlight. Purples? I’ll use the shimmery pale lilac. If I’m using singles or can’t find a suitable highlight, I’ll use any white, off-white or super-pale nude shade I grab. I usually go shimmery, but sometimes I use a matte.

Kat Avatar

If I’m doing a simple, everyday look I usually use whatever cheek highlight I’m wearing, I like those basic looks to be very coherent in all aspects. If I’m doing a more involved/intense look, I’ll usually use either MUG Rapunzel (yellow-base) or MUG Shimma Shimma (pinky-beige).

Brooke Avatar

I’ve been using and fell in love with the Anastasia Beverly Hills base 2 stick. Before that it was Mac perfect topping face hi lighter. Or a color by inglot just a warm matte white. The body shop has one more but the packaging got messed up so Idk what it’s called but it has a golden pink under glow. So pretty
